Does HGH cause you to go reverse-bald or can he just not find a good hairstylist on $34 million a year?

Reds sign Castellanos. The NL Central is ours.

Now we wait to see what the Reds next move is. There's no way they go into the season with Senzel, Castellanos, Shogo, Winker, and Aquino all on the roster.

Gotta think a trade for a SS is imminent.

You and me both. My guess is Aristides Aquino gets sent down to Louisville. Jankowski will probably be cut and our trade guys will be in the form of Winker and Ervin I would imagine.

I'd brace yourself for Senzel to be the main trade chip.

Heyman reporting that the Reds are at least shopping Senzel. Would make sense if you could upgrade SS.

Seems dumb to trade Senzel unless you’re getting a very clear SS upgrade with at least a couple years of control, like a Lindor or Story

I'm sure it would be a very clear upgrade, and I would imagine there has already been dialogue with a trade partner before the Casty signing. I'm guessing a trade is announced within the next few days.

This. I wouldn't trade him and that isn't because I'm a Tennessee fan too. Nick isn't going to be a super star but will certainly be an above average player I think. So unless we're getting equal/or more in return for trading him than I wouldn't. Plus who would play center? When we signed Shogo most experts thought he's lost a step or two and couldn't play center field over here full-time.

I don't think the Reds would have signed him AND Casty if they didn't think Shogo could handle CF full time.

I'm just impressed at how aggressive the front office has been the last two seasons. It's a good feeling when you know your team is actually trying to win.

Gave him the same contract terms we gave Moustakas ($64 million/4 years) but he has an opt out after the first year. The contract we gave both of them is the largest free agent contracts the Reds have given out so I'm pretty excited the ownership/front office is serious about returning Cincy to winning baseball.

This. I always no matter how bleak the outlook(looking at you 2002-2009 and 2015-19) get fired up and have a glimmer of hope that the Reds will pull out that magical season. Now, maybe for the first time in 7-8 years there is real reason for optimism. The last 6 or so years during the offseason all I've had to look forward to are prospect lists. Not this year baby!!

@JimBowdenGM
There is a growing belief amongst NL GM’s that the DH will be instituted for NL as early as 2021. FWIW.
