So happy to hear newman is okay. Was worried it was going to be much worse. He is probably more crammed in that car than most, he is a pretty big guy. Nothing short of a miracle. Thank God

Swear that was in the book. I think that book got gone when my mom sold her house a few years ago, but if I had it I would post an image.

I feel like you are confusing it with a quote that was similar to this one

quote:

"Out of compassion for his friend, he went to the car and I think maybe he saw more than what he bargained for," said Schrader's wife, Ann. "But at the same time, he takes comfort in that one of the last people Dale might have seen and heard was Kenny, a friend who was there for him."

Just said serious condition with non life threatening injuries. No specifics.

Newman being alive is a testament to the safety of these cars. Dude was hit 12" from the top of his head by a 3400# monster running 205mph.

Nothing short of amazing

I feel like everyone should keep in mind that Ryan likely has a long road ahead of him. Hopefully any head injuries were not serious enough to cause permanent damage to him. He needs to remain in our prayers.

I have no idea how they classify injuries, but I'm hoping that they don't use serious for head injuries or paralysis.

No mention of ICU but that doesn't mean he isn't in there.

Thank you all for being here. When I saw that wreck, it grabbed me and I wanted him to survive. I couldn't have waited until tomorrow to know because ...just because.

Gppd news, even limited good, is much appreciated.

I'm not a Dr., but I would be amazed if he wasn't in ICU.

Anyone who doubts that there’s a God should need no further proof than the fact he survived that wreck.

Of course, even this still gets vile responses since Trump tweeted it.

All that was announced was that he’s in serious condition but his injuries are NOT life threatening

Nothing else has been said officially

Thanks for sharing this. Corey LaJoie literally didn't even have time to react. You know he is sick over this, but he deserves no blame.

The word that he is in serious condition and that the doctors have indicated his injuries are non-life threatening came directly from his team, Roush Fenway Racing, and NASCAR.

Sickening but I’ve seen plenty of it since the accident took place.

I’ve just been sitting on my couch with the tv muted checking for updates the last two hours. So happy his injuries are non life threatening but I’m gonna be praying that it’s a full recovery.
