We don’t have any news to pass along at this time. That is the reason for lack of updates. A group of media has gathered at the hospital and will let you know if we get any updates here. Thanks for understanding.

Darrell was genuinely scared when they weren't hearing anything about Dale.
He recognized the severity of the wreck immediately when to us non-racers it looked just like any other wreck.
Those cup drivers know what’s truly a bad wreck or not when they see one

There were no compressions happening in that video. They would not be doing compressions on a moving gurney as it would not be doing any good. Whoever took that video is a fn idiot

You Tube has a multipart documentary called 'Dale Earnhardt, The Day'. Worth watching.

The longer there isn’t any news means the better chance of him being alive and of his survival is. It happened almost 2 hours ago. Much longer than Dale now.

Dale's wreck was almost identical to Neil Bonnett's several years earlier. Caught the apron and it made the car hook right.

Respect, but he went straight into the wall and then got T-boned by a car at full speed sending his car 15 feet into the air.
I turned it on for 15 minutes and realized that was an awful fricking situation

I remember seeing the news conference with that open wheel racer died about 6 or 7 years ago. I forgot his name but I know it was when Danica Patrick was racing in that style car.
Pardon my ignorance.

I was referring to DW immediately after Dale Sr’s wreck

Dan Wheldon I think.
If I remember right they think his head hit a trackside fence post.

Dan Wheldon. Killed at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2011.

Watching the replay. Open fires and a clear puddle of fuel leaking underneath.
Amazing it didn’t all go up in flames. For those that follow the sport more, are there some safeguards in the car/fuel for fire?

It's going to be a while, I think. Everyone important from the race team and NASCAR are likely at the hospital.

It was sad. Poor Ken Schrader was choking back all the emotions as he was trying to speak.
