As a Pirates fan I loved that season, even though I despise disco. But I’m a redneck from north Louisiana.

Better put some proper respect on Cobra Dave Parker, Pops Stargell, Bill Madlock, Bill Robinson, Bert Be Home Blyleven, Bruce Kison, John Candelaria, and Kent Tekulve!

Kent Tekulve with that badass side arm pitch and nerdy look. Back then it was Tekulve who inspired me to pitch side arm occasionally

Nope. Different times. Disco was the in thing. They were a close team. Saw them play in Houston. Great team.

When people reference that pitch, they always seem to attribute it to Dan Quisenberry. I may be wrong, but I thought Tekulve was doing it first.

Yes. I married a Pittsburgher that spring. I hated the Pirates and their song. They also played in men’s softball uniforms instead of their classic uniforms.
