Your examples are hilariously awful and are actually proving OP's point.

There were THREE games over 140 points in OP's data set, that's all from a single night.

Not a single game you've included in any of your four random dates had a single 140+ game, and yet OP's has three of them in one night.

In fact of the 15 or so games you listed, only two even even hit 130.

A ~120 point game is not in any way comparable to a 140 point game.

@ESPNStatsInfo: The average margin of victory in the 6 NBA games tonight was +28.0 PPG.

That's the largest average margin of victory on a single day in NBA history (min. 5 games).

I think we all know that the lack of defense is what makes the NBA unwatchable.

This is what I like to cal the dog days of the season. Between the new year and the all star break. And we were on a Tuesday night at that. Defensive effort non existent.

Several Kentucky players are contributing to this "lack of defense."

what? the OP established 107 is a high score game. there have been a bunch of nights that where multiple games ended in the 120s and 110s, this was never a point on 140, merely that comparable scores have been reached in single nights have been reached. you want to focus on the 140s? fine. thats not what i was focusing on

if everyone believes that those examples from 97 are shite then fine, ill take this L

Yet people bitched and moaned when the scores were lower in the 90s-00s, talking about it not being exciting enough and that offensively skilled shooters were a dying breed.

Sports fans don’t know what they want, they just know it’s not whatever is happening right now for the most part. Nonstop bitching

It actually took me a second to realize he was trying to counter OP's point.
