Every game literally has about .617% impact on the season. So basically, a LOT of meaningless boring arse games get played
Well that means you must only cheer for contenders then. Because there are many teams out there, by what i believe your stance to be, that play 162 meaningless games (go cubs).
Too bad they don't just start in august with one team down 2 games and closing on another team, right?

Because the sport that is dictated more than any sport by officiating is so grand. LOL basketball.

Not sure how you gleamed this from my statement.
Because Louisiana has no team, I cheer for interesting games when it comes to MLB. Game 93 in a 162 game season is of no interest to me, no matter how good the team may be or if they are contending. When the playoffs start, I will look in on a game if its close and past the 6th or 7th inning. Outside of that, baseball bores the hell out of me to be quite honest.
I became a basketball fan when I was younger because I played the sport as a boy and it is a much more exciting sport to watch IMO. When Louisiana got a team back in NOLA, it only increased my interest in the sport. I admit my bias against baseball.

Actually, since I have no favorite team and we don't have a team in the state, yes.

6 more voodoo games left, two in the Dome
they're still in the playoff hunt at 3-9

This exactly. The more games there are the less reason there is to watch any particular one.
Besides, baseball is just not as physically impressive as football, basketball, or even soccer. These guys are not anywhere near as athletic as players of these other sports, and their game is less viscerally appealing for it. Sure, there is beauty in a perfectly executed double play, there's wonder to be found in contemplating the exactness of the pitcher and the complex strategy of the game. But few and far between are the moments where the average person can have their jaw dropped. No ally-oop jams, no blocks, no 4th-and-goal stands or conversions, no Hail Marys.
All that's left is cerebral and fandom-motivated, drastically increasing the barrier of entry for anyone not born into fanhood. Like pretty much all of our great state...

Surely you don't mean....

Yeah, baseball sucks w/ those fatties. Good thing no one who plays football is overweight.
Anyway, to answer the OP, I think this is a decent time of year for sports. MLB plus Wimbledon is enough for me, then football is just around the corner.
For me the toughest time is after the Superbowl before baseball starts with only March Madness to enjoy. Regular season NBA is pretty bad.

Not a fan of the NBA, I don't think I've watched more than 2 minutes of any game this season. I would prefer a baseball game so this is a great time of the year in my opinion

That's exactly what I mean.

Here's a hint....start gambling! ALL sports are fun as hell to watch if you have enough money on them.

I wasn't either until this year. The playoffs are the best time to get into it for sure, as with anything. Do yourself a favor and watch game 7, there's no way it won't be an instant classic and some of the best sport you'll ever see.
If this series can't change your mind, I guess you're just not a basketball guy...but I kind of think that there's one inside of all of us

Worst time is between the Super Bowl and March Madness. Once the NCAA tournament comes, opening day, The Masters and the NFL Draft are right around the corner.
I love watching the NCAA tournament, but I probably haven't watched an entire NBA game in 5 years.

Yeah the next ~10 weeks aren't going to be much fun. It will mainly come down to watching the MLB or watching your grass grow.
