TOPS, FTW.

College was a great ROI for me and anyone else who got a real degree.

MELA it was a company that makes a device that could find melanoma more efficiently. Well it was awaiting FDA approval and just before it announced I bought more. It was then approved by the FDA but the stock shot straight down. I bought more and it never went up. I lost ~60%. Not much money though, I'm small time.

Worst investment decision, selling Apple shares purchased at around $8.00 in 1983 because it was over $20 and everyone agreed the run was over.

Not me personally, but my buddy's grandpa dropped a pretty substantial chunk of money into Worldcom on a tip. My friend says that's the only time he's ever seen him cry.

First real entry into investing, went with 13k up to 20k, down to 0 in about 3 months.

Sounds like a good investment until you became greedy.

bought a house in 2007... wasn't thinking of it as an investment but it turned out to be a terrible buy for me...

My first house in BR that I can't sell for shite. I bought it as a fixer upper for $130 put $50 in it and it was appraised at only $150, highest offer I've had on it was $135.
So much for a flip. Good news is the rent pays the mortgage and the taxes and all with a small profit so it wasn't the worst investment.

The worst investment was in 2001 I took out a $3,000 loan to buy some 20" rims, then I dented two rims in less than a week. Never bought rims again. $3,000 cost me close to $5500 over time, and was for something so dumb

I thought about putting going to a private college that costs a billion dollars a year, but it got me a good job that I otherwise would not have had access to, because of the awesomeness that is networking.

So I'll stick with Suntech. Bought at $35, sold at $23.

On or around 2000 I sold a rental property to convert a Ira to a Roth Ira- the market tanked and I had to pay taxes on the rental property as well - still pisses me off

Got a hot tip from scientist at local facility about a drug being researched that showed great promise. Bought 5k at $20, test results were average to below. Stock dropped to 5 overnight never to go above $6 in last 2 years. Oh well

Missed opportunity: seriously considered a few hundred shares of a larger tech company early 2000s. Had a buy order for 1k at 85 a share but it hovered around 86-87. At one point broker called and said he'd get me in at 85.50 per but I passed because I thought the company's product line was all gimmick and no substances. AAPL.

Did buy shares of worldcom and webvan though. Lolz
