Damn, it was already too late for Powell, but now he gets an extra year? Impressive.

That makes zero sense as usual

Had you not been calling for Powell to lower rates for… the better part of a year?

So we are about to have even worse inflation before a correction?

Yes, they need to get debt/gdp to 70% or so before the Fed can normalize policy. Inflation is the only path to that end. The most common misconception of fiscal dominance, our current state, is that austerity can fix it. Total govt spending (fed+local) is 35% of gdp. Any meaningful cuts trigger a recession, or worse, and the deficit widens as transfer payments to displaced workers increases.

The Fed will not cut rates and this is going to be another TACO moment.
Wait, wait, wait. I thought he hand picked the Fed Chairman and together they were going to reduce rates together no matter what. That's what we were being told 2 months ago. Now the chairman is not a puppet of the orange guy? It is almost like the narrative changes everyday and we forget what we were told a couple of days ago...

Completely out of the book 1984.

It seems odd...so many on here griping about Trump...are they not making money during this time?

Of course we are, we also made money while Biden was president too, that does not have anything to do with it

To underscore how big the problem is, our debt-to-GDP ratio hasn't been below 100% since Q3 2015 and hasn't even sniffed the 70% range since blowing through it during the GFC (62% in Q1 2008, 80% by Q2 2009) and we haven't seen two consecutive quarters below 100% since 2012. Since COVID, we haven't been below 115%.
Just getting it below 100% would be an impressive task. Getting down to ~70% would require a concerted and continued effort by a Congress which has long since abandoned the discipline necessary to achieve it.

Far from it. What he's learned is that this Behavior gets him what he wants. I don't like it either, but it works

Do you not remember the first couple of years of that presidency? From 22 to 24 we hit a recession and the market did not hit record highs for 2 years. How soon we forget. No one made money under Biden until the Fed bailed him out and his best quarter was the one that included a campaign that he lost...
Let's just be honest here...

It's amazing people are cheering on the downfall of our country while simultaneously being so brainwashed they keep thinking they're making it great (again). Many of these people are too stupid to even understand what made America great in the first place.
I think a lot of ‘maga’ simply want chaos and to watch things burn. Unfortunately the fire eventually comes to your front door, too.

We went from a high school degree and a job at the factory buying a house, putting 2 kids through school and a decent retirement with a boat/rv to Wal-Mart plus door dashing barely making rent on a shitty apartment.
And we did that inside one generation. A lot of people want to burn it down as did every other society in history that went completely lopsided K shape over a few decades. It is an entirely natural reaction and was to be expected.

How about we worry about our own self inflicted deficits?
Bond rates will come down if the US can actually maintain a balanced budget.
