You like DDOG. I dumped that to put more money in other things. I didn't have a lot invested and it wasn't really doing anything.

I'm looking for a hot tip on something low priced that few people are seeing right now. I will probably spend the rest of the afternoon digging around.

I have some lotto tickets in TELL. Probably 70% chance it goes bankrupt, 30% chance it's a $5-$10/share stock a year from now. Trading at ~$0.95/share right now.

so my question is...
why is LVGO still actively trading?
the stock price doesnt matter, only the number of shares. the price of LVGO should be frozen.
at the "effective time" ie: the date of the merger, LVGO stockholders get:
-0.592 shares of TDOC per share of LVGO
-4.24 per LVGO share in cash
-7.09 per LVGO share as a cash dividend
so what difference does it make what the share price of LVGO is now, or at the effective date? is it in TDOC's best interest that the LVGO share price go up? go down?

Hot damn, CVNA up 28% today. It was mentioned earlier in this thread and I took a hard look... and passed.
DDOG continuing the tank trend. Can't find an earnings report, but down 13% AH.

Right now they're still separate entities.

i get that, but investors have a right to some protection in the meantime. if the price of LVGO doesnt matter, at all...then the highest it should ever go is 59% of TDOC plus 11.33, right?
if thats the case, it's pinned to TDOC, thus its not freely trading anyway

Looks like DDOG had a great quarter and down 20%. I don't get it. I'm logging off and cracking a beer.

quote:correct. At any point in time it'll trade within points of 0.59tdoc+11. However the more doubt the is that a merger will go through, the looser that steplock will be.

ok so...help me with some math please.
right now i've got 20,500.00 in profit over my LVGO cost basis. thats 153 share at current price.
so i could sell those 153 shares, bank the profit.
but each share i sell is going to also cost me 11.33 later. that sale would cost me 1,733 in cash. plus, 59% of TDOC at whatever price its selling at when the merger happens.
whats a quick formula to make a safe decision here?
i do not want to give back the substantial profits i have

Not necessarily. The best time to sell would be when LVGO is above .59 x TDOC price + 11.33

why would it ever go any higher than that?
how could it ever go any higher?
