Just freaking put a more money in yesterday after telling myself today was going to be very bad for stocks and I thought we got past it. Stupid me. My positions dropped like a rock just now.

Apparently some female thought that she was immune from a copper jacketed lead projectile. She was incorrect in that belief.

Just heard a report that she just died. One unconfirmed report said that she tried to grab a cop’s sidearm and he chest tapped her.

To see the Dow and S&P finish on a high note is straight up Twilight Zone.

Jag - that leads me to believe the market REALLY “wants “ to go up.

Yeah, it’s like I’m reading a Rod Serling script and trying to figure out the ending.

A guy that I’ve been coaching on options trading got himself into some long call verticals a couple of days ago, against my advice BTW. Well, he made bank today. A rioting mob, someone shot dead in the Capitol and the market made a hard rally. What the hell do I know???

On your FSLY short put comment. I like to short a little closer to ITM, since I don’t mind owning more. I’d rather 2/5 80s. They are so expensive. Imo worst case on them is you are assigned around 74 and can then hold commons or sell for around break even

True. For stocks that I want to own longer term, I tend to go that route too. I agree with you... it’s a good way to scoop up a stock that you want (but aren’t dying to own). For tradeables, I typically go just outside the expected range for that time period and ladder into a position. Maybe 5 (or whatever) contracts to start, see if it moves away from me or against me, then put on another 5 at an adjusted strike.

For an investment position that gets put to me, I usually won’t sell calls against the position. For a trading position, I’ll do the “wheel strategy”: let it pop up and then sell OTM calls to generate income and reduce my cost basis. I keep doing that until it eventually gets called away, moving the strikes up along the way.

For those here who employ options as part of an investment OR trading strategy, I’d love to hear more about what you’re doing.

Here’s to happy trading and better days ahead for this great republic!

I’m just now learning about options as a source of income. Have sold calls. Haven’t sold puts yet. Useful resource when volatility is so high.

Anybody see Ophir’s tweet about his new top stock? Apparently the new stock has a float so low that buying 200 shares could make it move.

$TSLA is just the gift that keeps on giving.

I bought TSLA right after the split and was so so close to selling it to move on to something else and now I'm up $3k on my initial $5k investment.

Hopefully you own the 100 shares of the stock you are selling calls/puts for? If not, you can loose a lot of money if the deal goes the wrong way for you. I know you said you are just now learning about options for income, but hopefully you are well versed in options to begin with.

Anyone got any good option plays as well? I got in on ENPH a couple days ago before it popped like crazy. They expire next week but I probably will cash them out today.
