Setting a stop loss does NOT mean it will ever reach it and sell it. It simply you telling your broker that if it drops to this price... sell it.

This right here......if it drops as fast as it rose, you can kiss your arse and money goodbye. It’s going to def leave a mark when you sell it

He’s right.

A stop order has a stop price that triggers a market sell order if it hits. That order will fill, for better or worse.

A stop-limit order has a stop price that triggers a limit order at some specified price. That order could go unfilled.

Fidelity will only let me set a sell limit at 50% above the current price. That's like $500. Lol, I want a $2000 sell limit.

With Fidelity you can also set an alert at a price, and then reset the sell limit.

None of these user-based platforms allow for split second sell orders, even with a stop-loss order.

That’s another thing the big boys have going for them. Their trades work faster than joe blow’s trades, even if it’s just milliseconds

My buddy has a shite ton of GME tied up being transferred from RH

Nah. RH would have fricked him and delayed his sell execution to a lower price.

There's a lot of people who don't really care if it drops. They are in this to prove a point. There's thousands of people holding and even still buying and trying to get more people to do the same.

I hear it but I don't believe it. Once everyone loses money... I think we might hear another narrative

If the price is falling fast enough/crashing, it could blow through your stop price and by the time the order is executed the price could be significantly lower than your stop price. And you will get whatever the price is when the order is executed. Not necessarily your stop price.

Something else to think about.
