This has been a welcomed buying spree. Not sure the need for these melts, at least on this board.

My paper net worth has taken a big hit recently

We are still trading at an overvalued P/E even after today.

I'm sitting on about 20k. I deployed 14k into my IRAs the literal day that shite started to hit the fan a month ago. Trying to make up for that with some other cash.

Timing the market is dumb and all that, but I would be surprised if we don't have another few days of pain. I'm sure we'll get some more formal announcements of retaliatory measures from europe/china/etc soon.

Mine would be a lot worse if I had everything in the stock market. Still sucks being down a good chunk but it’s a great time to buy. Unfortunately I don’t have any extra cash right now outside of my auto buys and I’m still rebuilding my emergency fund.

I do think I’ve got around 100k in bonds that I could move into something in the near future.

I rolled over an old 401k in Jan, and I thought about putting in a money market or something similar and drip it back into the market since stocks were so expensive, but I didn't listen to myself

I guess on the positive side is that I have 18 years to make it up.

I did this in mid Jan right before we started going down. It was not an insignificant amount of money either. I was at that job for 13 years

If it continues to go down then I’ll buy some more. Otherwise, standard DCA.
