Someone, either on here or elsewhere, recommended Boldin. I have not tried it out yet. But it seems to combine a dashboard with an AI tool you can query. They are trying to sell you a subscription, and also CFP services. I am not recommending them but would be interested to hear if others have used it and recommend.

what is a retirement app supposed to do? Entertain you? Keep you physically active?

Chat GPT has been great so far giving me simple estimations/options (I’m 12-15 years out) I love that it can work up limitless scenarios for me. I don’t think I trust it for tax strategy, though.

What are you trying to get this app to do?
Plenty of free online calculators offered by brokerages, etc to see.if.you are.on track.
FIRECALC is useful https://www.firecalc.com/
Boldin has a free tier. I recently paid for access to their Roth conversion tools. Small price to pay for another perspective ($144/yr) It allows me to run various scenarios but still got to apply.my own good judgement and educated guesswork for assumptions to choose.

Mostly I'm just using my finance calculator app.
Input current data, how much I save yearly, and how much will be in each individual account at 5yrs, 10yrs, 62yo. At 3.5% minimum growth to seek out worse case scenarios. I collect the data then I log it into my word app. I do Max contributions (since last few yrs)
401k
IRA
HYSA

The best one, bar none, is Income Lab. It is expensive, though: $50/month. It also takes some time to fully learn all the nuances. But it is extremely powerful and does a great job modeling dynamic withdrawal plans.
Boldin is about 80% as good for $144/year.

Chat GPT can absolutely do what you want. It built me an entire financial dashboard. I can update inputs anytime.

I would use your brokerage retirement calculator

Not sure exactly what you are looking for but Empower is free. You can connect all your accounts and it will show your net worth.
You can also answer retirement questions and it will tell you how good a shape you are in.
The caveat is they will try to call you periodically because they are hoping to get you into their CFP products, but I have never answered them.
