Any of you guys own GSVC? They have caught my interest b/c they apparently own a stake in facebook and would profit nicely when facebook eventually IPOs. I'm just wondering if any of you MT guys have researched this company yet and what your thoughts are concerning this companies stock as an vestment?
Here's another LINK.
Disclosure, I currently own zero shares GSVC.

Ha, no, and the guy was really cool about it and appreciative of me not fricking him over. I told him I was about to get on a plane, I don't want any bad karma. Now I'm chillin in the for seasons restaurant bar waiting for some people and feeling like a pimp/creep.

Nice. Flipping that one has served me well as long as there's bid support and you hide out above best bid and below best ask.

I really didn't intend for it to go like that.
I would just feel stupid not to take that gain.

As I stroll my way from my second (first?) home in uptown new orleans towards the street car, wearing a red dress and drinking my roommates corona, I see a guy running and panting. I am winning at life, and you, kind sir, are losing. If I did this in houston I would almost assuredly be arrested.
Eta: street car driver just paid my fare because I didn't have a quarter.this is going to be a good fricking day.

I'm about to run seven miles. And I was up at 8am on a Saturday. How does that make you feel fizz?

I'm about to take my wave runner out for a two hour ride. Been watching some NFL preseason before that.

Does not change the fact that I still want your jobs. Exercise program starts tomorrow morning.

I am down 7 lbs in two weeks after giving up the high calorie craft beer and other high sugar carbs, and not drinking any alcohol M-Th. Doing more exercise and continuing on the weight lifting. I will be glad when the day time highs drop 5-10 degrees. You can benefit a lot from dumbbells in 15 minute sessions if you stay focused and use slow lifting which burns you out faster. 25's, 35's and 50's are all you need.

Right now I just plan on running and not drinking anything during the week, but I intend to move somewhere that has a gym so I can get my swole on. Maintaining weight has never been an issue (aside from a few months where I was in total hibernation taking the cpa), its just a bitch getting the extra off permanently. It seems like I make progress, get into a routine, then life intervenes and I get thrown off. Hoping that being removed from nola will let me accomplish that, and accomplish it rather quickly (like two months).

I started my first "real job" this week, and as seeing all the other people here posting about it, I figured I would post some observations.
I am the only guy there from the south(there are about 40 analysts), and probably the only one from a major state school. Most went to Dartmouth, NYU, Brown, Penn and them some other assorted northeastern liberal arts schools. I haven't been terribly impressed with any of the other recent grads financial knowledge and actually feel that I am ahead of most(mainly due to my internships and outside learning). I heard a few really stupid things that I thought were worth sharing.
First, a guy from Dartmouth told me that he thought we would be getting our salary in a single lump sum payment every year
The same guy, when we were asked to introduce and give a short description of ourselves in a department meeting(over 100 people) said "Hi, I'm Stephen and I enjoy dancing to electronic music, if anyone else likes that sort of thing we should hang out." The room was pretty quiet after that.
Another girl, who previously interned at a $3+ billion hedge fund in NYC asked me what BPS stood for.
Besides that, the job is going pretty well and I think I will fit in well with the company. It is a 18-month rotational "consultant training" program where we all bounce around a few different departments working on various projects. They will have me working between 50-60hrs a week for the most part and the compensation is good, but not great. Also, we get free beer every Friday afternoon

Posted on 8/14/11 at 10:58 pm to kfizzle85

Congrats on the job. Sounds like a cool opportunity.
The guy from Dartmouth should be ashamed.
