Just saw the people you added on Linkedin..you weren't kidding about the prestigious names of your co-workers colleges. Did anyone other than you attend a school outside the top 20 in the country?
Must have been a tough job to come across

And yes I am pretty sure I am the only one, place is full of nerds.

Ouch, that makes me feel pretty good about how chill most of my interviews were. Finance/quant positions always have the toughest interviews, IMO.
I might make it your way at some point this year for a project. I'll let you know if I am in town.

As it would happen, I was told today that my interview for the FT position is tomorrow. HR lady said you start with two associates , then consecutively through 5 differnt MDs (so basically every one of the bosses on that side of the company). Prob start at 1 and end at 5. Some of those will apparently probably be dual interviews with the other intern, who sits right next to me, has worked there since Feb (but is still in grad school), and served two tours in Iraq. Well then.

Awesome, let me know.
Good luck, kfizz, that sounds pretty brutal.

If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. I won't be crushed, just sitting in limbo for a little longer.

Is this in New Orleans...or Houston? I can't remember where you ended up.

H-town.
ETA: Just checked my email, 4 hrs, 6 interviews, 8 different people. Should be a blast. I've never seen two of them.

FWIW every one was very cool and laid back. A few guys tried to bust me on some technicals, no problem though, most of the conversation was laid back and generic. If I don't get it its not because I messed up.

Can someone give me the simple definition of short selling a stock?
Looked it up 3 different times and I still can't wrap my head around it

You borrow a share from me agreeing to give it back later
Then, you sell that share in the open market
If the stock goes down, you can buy it back at a lower price, realizing a profit when you give it back to me.
The inverse if it goes Up.

Just put in my 35th hour of work since yesterday. FML. Love the work, though.

I'm in awe of what the WTI/HH strips have done in the 3 weeks.

the thing I miss most about my old ob is the random high quality info I would get. For instance, one day my boss emailed me a 40 page document on the 3-2-1 crack spread put together by bridgewater and told me to read it if I had a chance.
I undfortunately never got very far into it, but it was only because I had a million other thins like that to read.

This thread is pure gold. There are a ton of people on there who have literally spent hours trying to track one of these down, just because. I'm sure its going on all over the world, but it would make for a great data dump for a case study on "manias."
