You think equity investors care about IOER?

From my time trading and investing, I believe that the equity markets react to happenings that are within and outside expectations. The level of interest rate hikes being one of those happenings.

So tell me, how do you see it?

How many new rigs will 100 bps bring online versus 50?

Still won't help the refining capacity which is where the bottleneck is.

On CNBC, one prognosticator says that the Fed May change policy on Fed rates- maybe only 2 hikes. He also stated that the market can take of itself - don’t need fed hikes………

I’m predicting a .75 increase for June and July. Then a .50 in September.

What is the trade if we think these rate hikes are happening? Or is everything already priced in?

Should be 1% and 1%. Might as well ripoff the bandaid.

I’m in SARK (short Kathy Woods ARK fund) and RWM (short Russell2000). Started positions in both in mid April. Both are looking nice, but I think have more room to move upwards.

Thats what I said. One 100 bp hike will show the Fed is serious. That alone will have a protracted ripple effect. The first one will have the most effect. The subsequent can be 75 or 50 bp.

Moreover it’s (100 bp) gotta be done now so the stock market has some time to recover before the November midterms. By September, when the Fed either skips a rate hike or goes low (25 bp), the markets will soar and Democrats will have some cover.

The fed will hike 50/75bips… I think they do .5 and then signal a possible .75 next and there after.
