Can someone explain what’s happening here with AMC?
From my understanding, the Wall Street Bets bunch is targeting certain stocks that hedge funds have taken a considerable short position on, and they’re getting the retail investors of the world to buy up the stocks to drive up price and cause a short squeeze.

have fun with this, but long term GME is a mangey dog. They are not making money. The fundamentals are shite...this id a bunch of kids waxing all nostalgic about a company that was going to shite even before the pandemic. You may be thinking you are fricking the short sellers, but there are legit reasons why hedge funds exist and why GME is heavily shorted. Hedge funds do provide a service in their shorts.

My options updated...up almost 600% on that in less than 24 hours.

It's more of a result of the FOMO caused by the GME situation. AMC was being mentioned in all the news reports and message boards as being one of the next shorted companies due for a squeeze, and it was at a nice price point for all the new regular joes and janes to dip their toes in.

I'm just going by that group's mindset.

Short Interest % on AMC is 3rd highest as of 12/31, and those guys are looking for 10x potential, and AMC was sitting ripe at $5/share at close yesterday.

I tried getting in before the bell yesterday and could not.

right

big boys bought this yesterday under $5. sent out media and articles that it was the next target for wsb because of the short interest % theory. now everyone is fomo'ing into it lol

Tell me where I am wrong. Game Stop was closing outlets and kids are downloading games from the source. GME is a dinosaur floundering about in the wake of a meteor hit. AMC could be salvageable.

What's so bad about putting down a dog that is terminal with rabies?

The option chain was just fricked a few minutes ago. 5c 1.40 cheaper than 10c

This is crazy to watch.
