I’m trying to learn a little bit about options. I made a test option on Robinhood but didn’t execute it. I created it on 10/1 and selected the dates selected $135 value and execution date of 11/7. It looks like it say current price is $9.30 and market value is $930.

That’s not saying that purchasing this option will
Meet me $930 if it hits $135+, is it? That can’t be right. This is why I’m not playing the options game.

I’ve got five CCs expiring tomorrow at $120 and one 10/17 at $125.
Thinking I’ll just let my 40 Jan 26 $130s make the money and stay patient.

Or buy back on any downward pressure??

Hard to tell if I should sell calls at open or not. I could see this as an all day gainer.

Oh my 116 call sold is going to hurt.

I will roll it if I have to. Thats almost a grand per contract on it saved.

Uhm, did you sell to open or buy to open?? Did you get paid the premium or did you pay a premium for the contract?

Cause sounds like you would be on the hook right now for 100 shares at $135 if you had executed

Depends on how you opened it, but you never get the premium just because it hits the price.

I already got 3 screens open and actually drinking a cup of coffee…my body is not ready for 9:30am. Just canceled a 1:1 I had scheduled for 9:30-10:00

I am planning to try and time the morning pop to sell off half of all my calls, then try and buy back on a dip, to ride out a close to high of the day finish

You would think Nebius would need to address the rumor on the datacenter. If it’s true, the official announcement should make it pop even more, as we could get full details about the potential plan. And if it’s actually not Nebius, they’d need to address that as well

What are the rules around the “quiet period” before earnings?

My brother and I constantly talk about why we didn’t load the boat in the low $20’s. I sold puts down there that were nickels away from executing.

Happy with my 235 shares at $36 average but kicking myself for not following y'all into calls. This thing still has legs in the short, medium, and long term imo. Not selling anytime soon

Definitely into the “quiet period” as it’s usually the last day, or before, of the quarter up until the earnings release. I would imagine they would be able to address this “rumor” and not be scrutinized for it, as it’s already public information

Not sure. I think Buy to open.

Thanks for the reply but just forget I asked the question. I’m going to educate myself before I do anything. I’m clearly ignorant at the moment.

Give this video a shot and remember, everyone was ignorant about options at some point…but it is very important to learn about them before you trade them, cause you could lose a LOT of money fast if you don’t know what you’re doing.

You might try this too.
I’ve found it helpful for people to go step by step on your particular trading platform.
