My coaches for MADM 701 and MKT 701 were also not Dr's.
One had his MBA the other a Masters in Advertising. Both were thorough and fair regardless of title.

Well, I stand corrected. My academic coach had told me that a Doctorate was required for coaching Grad students. Maybe that particular Professor required it for the AC's she used.

What are some good electives to take? I'm doing the general MBA. I am interested in the Casino and Resort Management course, but it's not listed as an elective for the general MBA.

Finished for the week in ECON. I can see where this could end up difficult. I ended week 1 at 100% but I certainty wasn't 100% confident in all of my answers. Some of his wording leaves a lot to be desired.

I highly recommend MADM751 with Dr. Meeks. It's one of the best courses I've taken in the program.
It's not just about starting a business, but it's also about creativity and innovation which may be applied to even big businesses.

socal77- Can you clarify the use of notes for ISDS705 tests for me?
I know it is considered "open book", but are you free to pretty much use whatever you want. For instance, the textbook, your own notes, the PDF of the book, the PowerPoints, etc.? Or are you only allowed to use certain things?
Thanks.

Are the self assessment and the assessment just like the video quiz? Multiple choice and untimed?
Ive read the chapters and looked at the slides but haven't done any of the technical problems from the book or looked at the excel graph videos.

Aurebelman, man you're quick. Did you read both chapters or just skim through or just go through the slides? I'm about 1/3 through with Chapter 2, but it's been a drag.

All are untimed and MC.
I read the chapters over the weekend and completed the technical problems yesterday and the assignment today. I'm not sure the technical problems were worth it, honestly.
I'll spend more time on the assessment questions than the technical questions in the future. I think reading the chapters is very important too.

Thank you for the feedback Aurebelman! I am working on the assignment now.
On another note. Has anyone purchased their graduation regalia yet? I couldn't make Grad Finale, so I was wondering how long it normally takes to receive everything?

A few days into ECON 705, out of curiosity I downloaded the word file assignment and took a look. Some of the questions are very subjective with no accompanying data like "why is this the case and why isn't there more of this?". I understand the end of module assessment closely "mirrors" the assignment but what is the format of the assessment, can't be multiple choice given these types of questions, can it? Anyone able to shed some light on this?

It is multiple choice.

Interesting, thank you. Not sure how one can design a multiple choice test around questions like the ones I've seen though...

Hello, would you mind give me some tips for MKT 701? Did you have James? Did you read all the text for the chapters and also all of the supplemental reading? For the application assignments, how long was typical report as far as pages? I would truly appreciate any tips you may have!

MBA4me, I had James the last session she taught and it was a completely different format from what she did in the past. I don't know if she stuck with that format or reverted back to her previous method. So it's hard to give advice not knowing what you are asking advice on. We didn't have anything called an "application assignment." It was exams, forum posts assignments, marketing simulator group project, and papers relating to that project.
In regards to the text... if you want an A on the exams, then yeah, read the text, highlight it, take notes, etc.

quote:For the concept questions, you'll be given 4 or 5 choices and each choice can be a couple of sentences long. You need to read each one carefully to spot what "disqualifies" them except the one that is correct, of course.

To study for those types of questions, I typically wrote out in my own words an explanation of what I thought the answer was. Then, I could typically pick something that matched closely with it on the exam.
The quantitative questions will have you either choosing from among 4 or 5 possible number answers, choosing from 4 or 5 graphs, or choosing from 4 or 5 explanations about what decisions you might make based on the results of your calculations / analysis. However, I remember the first exam being really light on that.
Our questions always matched exactly what was in the Word document, despite the syllabus indicating there could be differences in the questions. Regardless, I read every question carefully just to be safe.

Has anyone taken the MADM 720 quiz yet? It seems like it would be pretty straightforward from the text.

@DieDaily, thank you very much, very helpful. I like the idea of generating my own narrative part, will start doing this...
