In addition to my prior request, does anyone have the syllabus for BADM 790 (DV)? I know it’s the first time offered in 2019 Fall AP2 but worth a shot asking.

Anyone have the syllabus for FIN 740 with Sung Kim?
I'm trying to see what the class entails. More specifically, I'm debating if I should drop ISDS 710 for 2019 Fall AP2 and take FIN 740 next year. I'm in the process of helping my fiance plan for our wedding in Spring 2020, and with that plus all the holidays and events coming up, I feel like I should postpone it. It'll be my last course to complete my MBA in Data Analytics.

Trying to decide on which professor to take for MKT701 - Koksal or Khan? I know these are new professors for this course but was wondering if any one had recommendations? Thanks in advance.
Appreciate the response and extra information/suggestions. I do remember that email now that you mention it, but I would’ve thought they would update their course requirements on their website. It would be interesting to take FIN740 but I’ll have to change up my schedule.
My options now are to either do one of the following:
Option 1:
Summer 2019 AP1 - MKT701 w/ Imran, Khan
Summer 2019 AP2 - ISDS702 w/ Koksal, Ahmet
Fall 2019 AP1 - FIN740 w/ Kim, Sung
Option 2:
Summer 2019 AP2 - ISDS702 w/ Koksal, Ahmet
Fall 2019 AP1 - MKT701 w/ Koksal, Ahmet
Fall 2019 AP2 - ISDS710 w/ Darrat

According to the requirements of the Data Analytics concentration/specialization, all students pursuing this route unfortunately have to take ISDS 710. I would’ve taken FIN 740 as an elective at least if I didn’t already complete that requirement for the specialization.
Thanks for the extra info. Sounds like I should take the gamble and go with Koksal for MKT 701 then. Other option would be Khan.

Yeah, I agree. I’m still debating if I should try Koksal or go with Khan. I’ve read some decent reviews on Khan for MKT 701.
Signing up for Fall 2019 and noticed Ahmet Koksal will be teaching MKT 701. Based on his good reviews for ISDS 702 (which I’ll be taking Summer AP2), I’m hoping this will be a straightforward class with no busy work. Anyone else looking at taking this course with Koksal?

Anyone else take McLaughlin's MADM 701 Module 4 exam this week? I feel like it was similar to last week's issue where there were questions not covered in the text.
Well, looks like I won’t have to worry about it. Just logged into Moodle and saw this.

I’m thinking about emailing her regarding it. I don’t see how we wouldn’t get some type of curve. We can’t be tested on something we didn’t cover in the reading material and expect to know the answer.
baroqen, I had the same issue. When I read some of the questions, I was starting to think I read the wrong chapters or something. I went through the text as well, and there was definitely nothing regarding that material.
Seems like something she will need to curve our grade for.

Buck Strickland, I just took it and had about the same amount of quantitative questions as well. A little more complicated than I thought based on the wording, but I'm hoping to come out with a B..
The first test I finished all but one question in 30 minutes, so I was expecting it to be the same honestly since he mentioned average scores would increase throughout the course.

Aurebelman, man you're quick. Did you read both chapters or just skim through or just go through the slides? I'm about 1/3 through with Chapter 2, but it's been a drag.

Just finished the ACC701 final! It wasn't as bad as I thought, but at the same time I think I prepared myself a lot better than the midterm. Ended up finishing with about 35 minutes to review surprisingly. Just have to wait on seeing my actual grade, now.

But yeah, I think you can't go wrong with either route. Finance has always been a standard specialization, whereas Data Analytics is fairly new but with the way technology is developing and how much companies rely on finance systems, I'm sure more people will start going that route. It's tough to choose, though.

Marco, I'm in the same boat as you. I feel that there is an increasing demand for job candidates to have knowledge of the tech side of finance. Data analytics also sounds very interesting to me, as I started out as an Information Systems major but ended up going with Accounting.
I was actually wondering if there is a way we could specialize in both, but honestly I'm not sure if it would be worth it because at the end of the day, it's still seen as an MBA.
