If you are an active trader, yes this is a good spot to take some profit. Just my opinion.

Think the market will be good until the end of the year. It will all come crashing down in the election year.

I wasn't hating. In the OP I saw no mention of you being up that much.

That certainly changes the equation compared to what you put in your OP.

Meta up 5 after hours because of GOOGL beat on strong advertising dollars.

I saw Meta is expecting to do well with advertising as well. Said a lot of advertisers were taking money from TikTok bc of the uncertainty.

Seems plausible now.

Now it’s a bit clearer. Leveraged ETFs are more suited as trading vehicles, not so much intended to be longer term investments. You’ve made a nice score thus far. If that’s the position that you’re considering lightening up after some excellent gains, sure… why wouldn’t you? There’s no shame in taking profits on trades… I do it every day at 4PM ET.

Some of us thought you were talking about taking profits on longer term investments based on what the Fed or markets might do over the next week or so. I personally don’t do that. Mixing trading and investment strategies together seldom turns out well in the long term. People tend to forget which hat they’re supposed to be wearing =

Market timing is always a great idea. It has pretty much a 100% record of success over time.

I've got TQQQ shares from January 2019. Let me know when I should sell.

If it’s not a retirement account, there is nothing wrong with some selling to cover. If you are up 2x, sell half and you have covered the initial investment.

The question is, do you have a better place to invest the money you took off the table? A 5% HIRSA is good but not a great long term investment.

My brother pulled mostly out and into gold bullion and cash after watching too much Fox News, and too much Alex Jones, right after Obama won his 2nd election.

It’s a topic we don’t discuss much.

Depending on several factors, try to hold out until you only owe long term cap gain.
