I'm up. It's been a rollercoaster the last 6mo, but it's maintaining and slightly creeping up

Yeah that's a good perspective. Many folks are relying on 401K for 100% retirement income. Those times are gone for those under 50.

Might be too harsh, but all the money board experts with success stories are really not representative of reality.
Most 401Ks under Biden have been just there. Nothing massive either way. My YTD is close to 10%, my 1 year is at -0.16% growth

Maybe I'm in the minority, but my company doesn't give us many options for funds. You can either do an age based one or create your own mix. The problem with creating a mix is lack of options. I only have 2 large caps, 1 mid cap, and 2 small caps to choose along with crappy bond funds and some international stuff. I create my own mix since the age based ones suck to me.

sounds like you on poliboard with your nonsensical posts and lack of rebuttals. we know why. you know you are wrong and cannot formulate a coherent argument.

What is the average dude who is on a target date plan who's looking at massive streaks of red supposed to say? People's 401k's are getting smoked. The majority of them have no business "tweaking" this stuff. Are they supposed to ignore what their personal return says because the market is "up?"
Every thread blaming or crediting a particular politician with the markets' performance is dumb.

You certainly are different.

I've got the same now as I did in November 2020. Biden was sworn in January 20, 2021.

People trying to praise Biden here are weird. He initially was riding the Wave from post COVID. Since reality has set in.

It’s not really praise of biden. It’s laughing at people who underperformed the market blaming said underperformance on Biden.
The market is UP since biden took office. If your account is DOWN in that time frame, you underperformed.
It’s also a bit weird that when the market was breaking through ATHs on the regular in 2019-2021, many people, perhaps rightly, called it fake and gay. Now that the punchbowl was taken away by the FED, those same people are blaming the president.
I know a baw just like that. On green days he says the market is fake and grossly overpriced. On red days it’s Brandon’s fault.

While I would say most of us are up under Biden, you can see in the chart below it would be easy to be under at the same time. The past 52 weeks have not been some joyous trip

If not for Bush 1, Biden would have the worst since Carter.

People that think presidents can take any credit for the economy are idiots. So many other factors. Biden is a moron, don't get me wrong, but so much other stuff goes into it.

10 year = 12.2%
If I can get another 12.2% over the next 10 years I’ll be happy.
DCA until I retire.
