Well if the folks that pulled their money in order to get PP to respond. They would be fools to put the money back in. Enough with the test the waters and if it doesn't work apologize or say it was wrong information. Then all is ok and people continue to support these companies. The vendors would find another way to get paid if PP would fold or become less used. Express your views to the vendors.

Closed mine this morning as well, not that I ever used it, but at least now they can't count me in their number of users to their shareholders.

I think the liquidated damages provisions had been in the policy for a while. I think something else got added re misinformation but I haven’t been able to find the exact language. I do think PayPal/Venmo has an interest in controlling how their platform is used, for example, if it is being used to support objectionable content involving anti-semitism, etc.

Get woke and go broke. That was a profoundly stupid move on PayPal's part.

How exactly to they track the people spreading stuff. Say this news didn't break out like it has. How would they track it?

They would probably track it with partnerships with social media companies by tying accounts to their social media profiles.

Since the government colluded with big tech, i see how paypal would have done the same thing

Hey, I don't spread misinformation, so this is all of no consequence to me. Rather, it may be creating a nice buy opportunity.

Tried to close my account online, still had the option, but had money sitting there… wouldn’t let me close until transferred out.

As soon as that clears, cancelling… F them

This whole thing is pretty shocking. I don’t believe it was an accident, but I also don’t see the logic behind trying this given what’s happened to their stock in 2021/2022. Like what was the upside of this?

I don’t even think that’s the case. It’s such a misstep that I almost do believe it was an accident and/or someone snuck it in.

Someone deliberately sneaking it in would make sense, but how in the world would this accidentally slip in?
