Unsure if I am just in an echo chamber or they are going to see material drop in user/revenue

If Venmo follows suit, I will legit move platforms again with renters.

I’m not sure how this helps them increase business? I certainly see how this will push many people to stop using them.

So I really don’t see their play from a business perspective, which ultimately means it’s either political or will cost them financially.

To be honest and maybe I’m naive but I see the courts destroying this rather quickly.

They are already back peddling just unclear if fast enough

If you don't want my business fine but you are a quasi bank act like it if you want access to my accounts

They already felt a HUGE hit which is why they’ve had to not only retract the policy but issue an apology.

I think the deed is already done though.

Depends on how many customers they lose. They didn't walk the policy back over a few thousand. The blow back had to have really took their breath away. That and that they have cemented their place in the thought police category will have many hesitant to sign up in the future. Not to mention this just gave Competitors an avenue to further cut into their business.

Paypal owns Venmo.

"PayPal owns Venmo. Indeed, since 2002, PayPal has acquired several brands. In 2013, as PayPal bought Braintree indirectly, it also bought Venmo. Braintree acquired Venmo in 2012 for $26.2 million. Therefore, by 2013, Venmo entered into the PayPal family of brands comprising payment solutions like Braintree, Venmo, Xoom, and iZettle products."

Could PayPal run into liquidity issues if alot of people pull money

The act as a bank wonder if they have correct reserves
