I'm not a big conspiracy guy but halting the buys have certainly hurt for those who were in. Doing so only benefits one side at the determent of the other.

I left my AMC in RH. Also bough on Fidelity. Getting raped on Fidelity at the price I bought wasn't in for alot though and what I had in RH I bought at 4$ a share and sold for profit. Just alot lower than I thought it would peak.

Noob lesson learned

should be criminal unless all action is halted imo

I agree. Limiting trading the way they did on certain stocks should be illegal. I can't wait to see how the inevitable class-action suits play out.

Yeah I'm still holding, not enough in for a huge loss. So maybe it will ride back up to my break even.

I shoulda sold the moment they limited buying.

So fricked up that this stocks potential run was killed by brokers. Oh well, the fact that brokers might take actions that will drive the market is something more to consider when buying or selling.

It will become the norm as a transition to majority direct to stream only movies.

To me, this devalues a movie in general. I just don’t care as much about a movie I can pull up for the first time on my screen at home. There’s something more majestic about awaiting the theatrical release, the aroma of the popcorn, and enjoying a film on the big screen for the first time.

I won’t pay near the same to do this at my house, and I more so would expect it to be a component of whatever streaming services I’m already funding on a regular basis, so wouldn’t be partaking as frequently.

If my measly 10 shares help keep my local theaters open, so be it. That makes it a good investment for me. I love going to the theater.

Same here. I got in this morning at 7.50. I gladly pay my monthly A-list fee to help keep the doors open. May only go once or twice a month now, because of lack of product, but we love the theater experience and prefer it to streaming.

I do think, however, that the crowds will return as soon as Hollywood let's movies out again. We've been in several showings since August that were at the 40% maxed level. Even the Maltese Falcon had a "max" crowd last week. It wasn't fear that kept folks from seeing what Hollywood movies have actually been released. Tenet especially, but even Wonder Woman 84, just weren't that great.

I've been trying to do that as well but TD Ameritrade isn't letting me open new contracts on AMC.

Fidelity is allowing all trades as of now. I’ve flipped 8 and 9 strike calls twice today. Didn’t nake a killing but still made. I have an executed 9 strike i sold to open at 2.2 that i have an order in to close at 1.65. Quick $110.
