Legal experts say the government is busily dismantling their own case against the FTX founder.

bullshite tweet for echo chamber dullards.
Copy/Paste of my poli board response:
I need an actual source on this.
The charges that were dismissed were new ones post-extradition that would have delayed the October trial date.

In a court filing, the prosecutors said they would proceed to a trial in October without pursuing five of the 13 charges against Mr. Bankman-Fried — a set of accusations that the government added to the crypto mogul’s indictment in the months after he was extradited from the Bahamas in December. Among those charges was a bank fraud count, as well as an allegation that Mr. Bankman-Fried bribed a foreign government.
They weren't even really dropped:
quote:
Mr. Bankman-Fried has argued that prosecutors should not have been allowed to charge him with additional crimes after his extradition. But the withdrawal came with a major caveat: The prosecutors asked the judge overseeing the case, Lewis A. Kaplan of Federal District Court in Manhattan, to schedule a second trial in early 2024 on those five counts.
Why? To avoid delay on the October trial date:
quote:
The prosecutors said the delay was a procedural necessity. This week, Mr. Bankman-Fried won a ruling in the Bahamas, where FTX was based, granting him the ability to argue in court there that the Bahamian government should not consent to the additional charges. That legal dispute could take months to unfold.

Many folks don’t understand that regardless of whether you’re sentenced to 20 years for 1 count of wire fraud or sentenced to 20 years for 100 counts of wire fraud, you’re still spending the same amount of time in prison.

Bankman-Fried has not escaped the charges, however—prosecutors asked the judge to schedule a new trial for the first quarter of 2024. Bankman-Fried’s trial for the first eight counts is scheduled for October.

I bet he’s ratting out CZ. Expect a DOJ case within a couple weeks. I can’t fathom leaving a dime with CZs shitcoin casino, but if you do, get it TF out.

Worst kept secret is the DOJ has a sealed case against CZ and binance. Investigation has been going on a while.
CZ will never set foot in the United States.
The OP thinks it's some conspiracy, when in reality it's just the timing of when the charges were made. 99% chance he is convicted on charges before these 5 charges are brought to trial next year. They will just keep adding the years

Exactly.
They added charges after the extradition and there is a dispute with the Bahamas over whether or not they permitted extradition on anything other than the original charges. A recent ruling in the Bahamas means more litigation/appeals are necessary, which puts the October date in doubt.
They just severed these charges from the original indictment, got a January 2024 trial date for those, all to ensure they weren't delayed in convicting him in October.
But yeah a dumb echo chamber CT makes more sense, at least if you're a sub-85 IQ person or one so far gone in the echo chamber you don't know what up is anymore.

Actually, that only applies when the sentences are ordered to be served concurrently. If the Judge orders the sentences to be served consecutively then the convict must finish one sentence before starting the next.

I doubt SBF, would serve a bunch of 20-year consecutive sentences, and I don’t necessarily think he should, at least more than 2.

Wonder what the new conspiracy theory will be when he gets more years.

They will say he has dirt on the Feds and politicians so he has to be put away

Must be ratting out some big players. As suspected. Time for CZ to go down

quote:Why wouldn’t he be. None of what happened in the OP regarding SBF’s charges/punishment happened, and I haven’t seen anything to suggest CZ’s legal situation has anything to do with information SBF provided or was even privy to. SBF couldn’t even figure out what was happening with his own companies.
Still laughing?

Lol, the new is that CZ is now not going to see any jail time. Even though in his plea bargain he agreed to a 6 month delay in his sentencing and waived his right to appeal for prison terms at 18 months.
Maybe him and CZ can share a cell in prison and laugh about all the shite they got away with.
