I appreciate new insight from different pov’s.
Hopefully, we can all win on this EV boondoggle.
Thanks for the map ev24.

We see where Exxon bought land
Right next to SLI land
There is no concrete information that they plan to add modules or trains or even refine the lithium themselves. They have an expertise in drilling. They may just want the upstream side
Just says they've had "talks". Odd that SLI isn't mentioned in connection with SLI. Exxon doesn't leak info I thought. SLI is the only company that has extracted lithium from the Smackover brine. 99.9%+ purity at that. Tetra sold their SLI shares and are now having regrets and trying to get back in the game IMO. Koch has sold O shares. Lanxess needs the money and yet has sold 0 shares. Tetra was never in the know regarding the process or progress. They couldn't make their plant profitable and shut it down a few years back.
I think it's obvious that SLI is the leader and I think Albermarle is still in play as their attempt at DLE shite the bed. SLI has patents and will be proceeding with the build out of their commercial plants. The money being spent and the work being done currently wouldn't be happening if they weren't pretty damn confident. Nor would Mintak have wasted money forming subsidiary drilling companies to find those record high lithium concentration brines for some tech they knew wasn't going to work.
Not to mention the SLI guys are cocky as f$%k right now.

Hookers and blow level cocky?

I hope they’re cocky for good reason. I’ve been burned twice over the last year. Once by Western Magnesium that had a successful pilot plant and then disappeared. Now it seems that Argosy Minerals is in trouble. They’ve built a 2000 TPA salar and refinery and are having issues with the Argentinian Supreme Court over indigenous people.
That’s why I get extra salty about SLI missing deadlines and offering up nothing of substance

Guys, SLI is still 2 years away from production. That is my love/hate with it. We are still not sure that the tech can scale. My hope is that it does. I have been off and on for 4 years with this beast. The reality is that we are 2 years away. Until then, this is a swing trade for me.

I mean, yeh it’s at least two years away from revenue and operating like a real company.
However, if/when they announce the FID and any potential partnership this thing is never sniffing $4 again. Once they’re making revenue it turns into a traditional, “real” investment. Safer, but less opportunity.
The risk is definitely present now, but now is also when you’re looking at a 3-4 bagger and not hoping for comfortable 12-15% annual growth. Investing here in 2 years isn’t going to give you nearly the same opportunity. It ain’t gonna wait til that first PO is accepted in 2025 to jump in price.

Mike,
I appreciate your perspective.
Historically, have you been riding this one out, purchasing additional shares, or have been trading this stock ?

I swung a good bit on the way down from the 2021 high. Only time I sold any. Ended up cutting my position by about a third I think, got around 10% sold above $10 and the rest (of the third) was mostly between $6-$8. Swung that because the writing was on the wall after they announced the fairly far away “deadline” for DFS.
I’ve bought it all back and have more than ever. Slowly adding now, gonna keep putting on an additional ~5% a week til the move happens (assuming no unexpected news comes out).

That was a good thing to keep on the quiet side while mineral rights were being secured.

Did Arkansas ever iron out royalties for lithium? I thought that was another impediment about a year or so ago.
Posted on 7/24/23 at 4:17 pm to Fe_Mike
I asked because my 11,700 shares are in a Traditional IRA and I am required to take an RMD before the EOY.
As I appreciate it, I can take enough out of my 401K to cover it. Thanks.

From this most recent royalty update that I know of (11/28/22):
"The companies also want the determination of fair compensation to be deferred until after commercial processing facilities are in operation."
I remember reading somewhere else that they didn't want to create a big ordeal where mineral owners hear about their new royalties before lithium starts getting produced and asking where their payments are etc.

You don’t have to make a sell to make that RMD. You can distribute shares but you won’t be able to w/h taxes.

Mike Huckabee was asked about us on FOX business. Good PR. No specific mention of SLI, but Exxon bringing eyes to projects and eventually money.
Exxon and Albermarle are two big, swinging dicks in the business world, but when SLI struts into the DLE shower, they cover up. We got a meatloaf dick.

I don't know how earnings will fit into PR timing but SLI's last 3 earnings were on 5/11/23, 2/9/23, and 11/10/22 so expecting the next to be around 8/11/23.
Exxon earnings call on 7/28
Tetra financial report on 7/31
Albemarle earnings statement on 8/2
in case any of them plan to drop some Arkansas lithium news for us to chew on.

Slow "early third quarter." I'm a wood chipper under Standard's tree waiting for the dangling early 3Q branch to finally separate
But yeah, slow day here in retirement. Will try to filter tidbit posting while waiting for the news to hopefully decrease a little exposure here. Gentlemen...
