I'm thinking 3,000 shares around 3.50 then put my pajamas on
While I'm here, would yall lease South Arkansas minerals to Albemarle now (I seem to be in their leasing territory) or hold off for possible better terms if/when lithium prod takes off and royalties have been determined?
This article references SLI and Lanxess asking for the AOGC to determine lithium royalty rates, but this line
"Commission decisions about lithium royalties will also set precedents for property owners in Columbia and Lafayette counties, where both Albemarle Corporation and Tetra Technologies contemplate lithium production from present or future brine wells."
reminds me that such a determination wouldn't affect Albemarle's leases right away.
Albemarle leasing fellow told me to call him back if I ended up buying the minerals, but I don't want to be stuck in an umteen-year lease if brine leases will be drastically more fruitful in just a couple of years.
Thoughts?
By the way, thank yall for the free education throughout this thread. If only I owned a hat factory...

If rates aren’t set it yet, it may be possible for you to negotiate a higher rate than what will be possible once the commission sets the royalty rate.
That's how it worked for O&G leasing in Mississippi at least. I was able to negotiate a higher royalty than what was ultimately set by the commission for future leases.

Oh, no kidding?
My mind is treading water on this for 3 reasons:
1. I'm assuming that these leasing territories are exclusive
and I would be "stuck" with Albemarle instead of, say, Lanxess.
2. It seems as though Albemarle's focus is primarily on bromine expansion for the time being.
3. I'd imagine that a brine lease offered now will cover brine/bromine with no regard for any future lithium consideration. I think I remember reading that brine leases in the area can commonly exceed 20 years. Imagine being three years into that and finding out that Albemarle is suddenly getting free lithium from you while you sleep.
Anyway, I reached out to Albemarle last week and will share what they end up offering, if anything.
I don't own enough minerals there to feel as though I have any real leverage, so I'm inclined to wait and find out what will happen with the lithium royalty rates and the direction Albemarle goes.
Also hoping that I can get 175 more shares of SLI at 3.50 this week. Yall still kickin?

I’m sitting at 6,620 shares at an avg of $4.73. Continuing to add as long as it’s below $5

The new blood is appreciated, but surely you can see the age and length of this thread.
We're still in, and arguably still kicking.
Yes, go get 175 more shares.

Thanks for your patience and encouragement, Grassy.
On page 577 of reading through the thread, right around when Koch invested. My comprehension isn't the best (and untreatable epilepsy), so I thank yall in advance for your grace re stupid questions.
You guys have provided fascinating insight on my only single stock.
I'd mix each and every one of your wine

Anybody know why we got a bounce today?
Posted on 1/25/23 at 10:57 am to BigPerm30
I saw an article/press release today that mentioned SLI along with other lithium plays, but didn't give any information that wasn't already known as of Dec. 6.

I heard gaucho sent Mintak a TigerDroppings hat, but that could just be a rumor.

Its because I've been putting my buy orders .01 cent below the days lows for the last 3 days. The universe has decided to not let me fill those orders.

Generic lithium report mentioning SLI? LINK
Posted on 1/25/23 at 12:34 pm to PotatoChip
None of the other names mentioned in that report are up as much as SLI. That report doesn’t list anything new (to us at least), maybe it does to other investors however. I’d like to think this volume is driven by something else.

There's always the possibility we'll wake up tomorrow to a news release renaming the company to Slitter.

Nope. Looking at the trend line it will probably run to 5 then go down the mid 2s
