Geez that would be a crazy delay. If true we should be able to rebuy in the $2’s before ground breaking.
Does anyone know the estimated construction cost? That would help me get a better timeline in place.

Phase 1 Capex is estimated at $170M; that is what the FID that we get hopefully in early ‘23 will be for.
All in for the Lanxess site is estimated just south of $500M
ETA this was in 2021 dollars so probably tack at least 10% on top of that if not more.

There is nothing like scheduling over-runs to inspire confidence!

Damn was gonna buy some today but looks like this may be headed to the $2s

Yeh I’d probably wait. There may be some support by the August timeline given today but I think there is much more potential downside pre-news than upside.
I’d give it til early august. If it moves before then, it’s more than likely gonna be the wrong direction.

For a 170MM project- my calculator shows the following. This is a super generic calculator, but the key dates it spits out are:
Construction start: 7-Oct-2023
Startup :26-Feb-2025
IF most of TIC is material related, this can be sucked in considerably. Also since there was a test plant, maybe the scaling will take minimal time. But who knows.
The calculator was putting way too much time on Project definition,m so i modified the start date on it to align to what we were told.
Model Predicted Schedule Start Finish Duration
Project Definition 1-Jan-2022 17-Apr-2023 15.5
Detailed Engineering 4-Apr-2023 19-Jun-2024 14.5
Procurement 11-Feb-2023 17-Oct-2024 20.2
Construction 7-Oct-2023 26-Feb-2025 16.7
Startup 26-Feb-2025 9-May-2025 2.4
Execution Duration 4-Apr-2023 26-Feb-2025 22.8
Total Cycle Time 1-Jan-2022 9-May-2025 40.3
Construction/Engineering Overlap (% of Engineering Duration) 58%

Strong feeling the initial project will be at $300mm

Any one remember when the second proof of concept completed?
I know it is in this thread, but we are over 700 pages long!
The market is up today, but SLI is dropping.

I bought some yesterday around 3.98 or so.
Wanted to buy more, but bought some VTI instead to try to be smart about something for once.

Who's buying this week?

I got caught with my pants down on this one, position is too large already.
I’m waiting for the Great Reset to happen, then I’ll buy more

Now that makes sense. Rumor has it that Gaucho has been spending time at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, TX. Hard to believe, I know.

You guys don’t get overly concerned about these 1-2 month lags. That’s pretty good considering what we’ve been seeing from engineering firms lately.
ETA-Bigger concern is long lead items and how quickly can they get them spec’d out and on order.

I think I speak for most of us bag holders when I say that our collective level of concern is much deeper than it may appear in this forum.
I.e. this little run here is cool and all, and it could last for weeks or months only to be wiped out at the first sign of negative publicity.. Sadly, our backbone, Mr. Mintak, appears weak imo
