75k is a good SW sign up bonus.
I won't get the benefit from another $100 fee on the CSR

Also rumors of CSR bumping up annual fee to $550 and adding a DoorDash/Lyft membership and possibly upping the fee. I think I personally will get use out of the different but there's probably plenty that won't.

That woudn't be worth it to me anymore. Not sure what I would do, but I would probably get rid of it. But I have 500K points to deal with.

I said "upping the fee" but I meant upping the travel credit, sorry for the typo I'll edit. The Travel Credit is the same as cash to me so that's easier to swallow but yes I agree. May be worth downgrading to Preferred but you will get 1.25 on travel instead of 1.5. 500K is a lot to lose value on though.

Well that sucks. $100 increase and nothing of value to show for it. I have never used lyft, and live out in the country.

I wish they gave you options to take more travel credit or something useful. Ugh, now what to do.

My wife and I both have the CSR, if I wanted to downgrade one of them to the CSP, is there a way to do that and get a sign up bonus?

Would you have to close the CSR account and wait some time and reopen a new one with the CSP? Would you be able to keep the same login to the Chase site?

Looks like I’ll be downgrading to the CSP or even cancelling and opening an AMEX Platinum.

If you cancel I assume you lose all your points? And if you downgrade they're no longer redeemable for travel for 1.5x. I guess I need to spend all my points before my fees are due

I assume this is true and I'm probably going to have to live with it another year or so. I am building a house, so I don't want to make any significant credit changes, and I am not in a position to spend my points this year either.

All good things must come to an end. I’ll be downgrading to CSP as well. But my annual fee fortunately hits next month, so I can get another year in at $450 and use up the $300 travel credit again next January before I downgrade.

To be honest. I’m surprised it took this long. Savvy cardholders took Chase to the fricking cleaners with this card. I was able to pay for a lot of my honeymoon with points.

I booked my best ever point redemption just last week. A 2 night stay at Hyatt downtown Augusta ($950/night) for the Masters. Booked with just 30k total UR points transferred to World of Hyatt.

Exact same boat. AF hits next month. Probably need to start using my points for travel though. Not sure I want to pay the $550 in 2021.

I'm definitely going to look to downgrade or kill off my wife's card.
I just went in to try to transfer her points to me, and it wouldn't let me, not eligible to do at this time. Can you only transfer points at certain times? I did it once before, not sure how long ago it was with no issues.

The best redemption rates are all transfers anyway, which will not be affected if you downgrade to the CSP

I don't really look at the 1.5 vs the 1.3 as a factor when weighing the CSR vs the CSP because I have only used the portal for booking once, and don't really plan to again.

It will be interesting to see if CSR offers any redemption offers for the mass exodus of cardholders that is about to occur.

I am interested in knowing how the AMEX will pay for itself better than CSR. I’m not real familiar with it but from what I can find it has the same fee and less travel credit (and more restrictive).

I’m disappointed in the fee increase and I’m looking at alternatives but I’m not sure it’ll cause me to downgrade or cancel. The 1.5 travel credit is hard to beat. Seems like the break even travel spend on the card is $1,050, which is really easy to do in a year.
