This is better than AU. Models are starting to weigh AUs less

Take out a Stafford loan for her. I did it to build credit in college. Huge help to my credit score
Also was very fortunate since that extra $ left over upon graduation helped pay my first month on the job before my paycheck arrived.
Not many places offer an unsecured loan at some 3-4% interest

Good suggestions already and you're right to start preparing her history now.
Don't keep the card away from her. She needs to learn to use it responsibly. Getting a student loan is a good idea. Capital One and Discover both have cards geared towards students.
True story. Friends paid for everything for their daughter while she was in school. Rent, tuition, expenses. It was all paid by them with cash. She graduated from William & Mary with honors and her first job paid $85k a year. She could not get approved for an apartment without a co-signer because mom and dad paid for and put everything in their names.

I have a possibly similar question, but my wife is trying to build her credit a bit this year (shes currently around 690) Is there a decent site where she can punch in her info and compare a list of card offers? Just to not waste time and send a barrage of inquiries to her report applying for cards she might not get

My niece is going on a trip to Europe over the summer. Being in college, she has little to no credit history. Is there a card that she might be able to get that she could use to avoid needing to hold a bunch of cash and not have to pay foreign transaction fees?

i haven't gotten a new CC in a bit. looking for the best cash back cards. thinking a Chase Freedom
3% the first year and 1.5% back after. no annual fee
the wells fargo card has 1.5% cash back (1.8% for Apple or Google pay) and a $150 sign up bonus
any other good options for CB? elite sign up bonuses?

thats the freedom unlimited, make sure you're getting that one and not the regular freedom (5% back on quarterly categories)
I just got the freedom unlimited. one of the best deals doing right now

Anyone seen the new Southwest Priority Card?
60k pts after 2k spend
$75 Airline Credit
4 Upgraded Boardings ($160 value)
$149 annual fee
Tempting... Would get Campanion Pass for next year at this point and could easily turn the 60k into 3 round trip (6 w/ companion)

How much do you have to spend to get Companion Pass?

If you get the cards and get the companion pass, is that forever, or do you have to re-earn it annually?

Its for the remained of this year and the next. So,the ideal situation is open the business card and the personal cards in November(ish) and meet the minimum spends in January so you have an effective 2 years of companion pass.
You may need to spend a little bit more since usually the bonus is 40K and 60K for personal and business respectively.

Ive been looking today for cash back cards as well. The best one Ive seen is the Citi double cash card. Just a straight up 2%. No bonus, no fee, no category. Ill probably get that one for one business that mainly pays fees and general merchandise.
For my fuel intensive business the chase Ink pencils out better, but not by much. For my specific needs anyway.

Got hit with Serve shutdown letter on card that's barely 2 months old. Just started to get comfortable liquidating vcgs that way. Back to MOs. It was fun while it lasted.

Sucks. I was doing 20k/ month (P2). Was able to sign up for 4 more yesterday, hopefully not total ban.

Got a year or two before they did though.

Think you will be able to load them? Where are you getting the gcs?
I have 2 extras that were not activated yet. I guess I'll activate and try to load. Thinking of adding some more with P2. It was way too easy compared to MOs. I hate that I was too lazy to read and learn about it the last couple years

Those should be good to go

If her card received an email, the loophole closed already and she wont be able to sign up for a new card.

There is nothing about MOs that I have any desire to deal with.
There were many easy coach potato options up until about 2016 that make MOs seem ridiculous. So in a sense it was probably good you didn't know about them or you may have been like me.
