RE: Credit score, utilization and all that.
I don't worry about it. I pay credit cards off every month but they report a large amount of credit used regularly as I have a business that can purchase tens of thousands in materials cost each month. My utilization by percentage can be low or high depending on the statement closing balance. The only thing that matters to me is that I don't pay interest.
As a result my score is high enough for me to get the best rates when I feel the need to get credit extended. I see no need to pursue a score beyond a certain point and properly managing credit should get one in that position as a result of that practice.

If you are a normal person with multiple credit accounts and you pay monthly bill for 10+ years, you odn't have to think about your score unless you are near 100% credit utilization on every account.
Only time scores are truly relevant are for pricing mortgages/auto loans anyways.

If you read FT on applying for Chase cards you'll notice that at the very bottom of wiki it states that the two weeks notice on phone auto response is usually an approval within 30 days. (Although you can always call and push it along if you like
Very nice to know. Haven't been keeping up these days.

Jealous
ETA: Mind if I ask - what business? Just trying to think of easy business ideas that can run up high costs with no profit/loss.

Our primary business is data cabling in data centers and in new office builds and expansions.

Just got both of my SW cards and got the minimum spend on each to get the bonus points. How long does it take for the points to post? I need that companion pass.

Will post once the statement closes if you met the requirements in time.

Do you have the other 6k points figured out too?

Yup. Bought 3 plane tickets and transferred some Marriott points.

Call the reconsideration line. I required an address verification on mine which got it denied online

Don't mention the bonus. Tell them you fly SW a lot. Have excellent credit, never missed a payment.
Idk your history but I would guess you don't have too many loans/credit cards prior or have too many which Chase has gotten sensitive to recently.

2016 SPG changes.
Initial thoughts on a quick browse:
Bora bora Le meridian cat 7 to 6.
Meaning you can book 5 nights for 100k points. Not sure if that gets OWB for a plat with upgrade, but I'd sure look in to it and consider it if cash upgrades are available too. Not going to bora bora to stay on land the whole time.
All Thailand hotels getting bump up in category. Surprising considering the points usually offer poor value over cash. Teddy didn't you stay on points in Bangkok?
Nola hotels: the W and 4 points going up in category. Not surprising as they are a pretty good deal considering average cash rate many weekends in Nola. The Sheraton is so damn big I imagine they like their spot.
Just my first read through. Getting the wife and I both the biz cards before they ride off in to the sunset. Hope to have another 70-100k points to burn before then.

Ya that's crazy. Bumping them up at their rates makes redemption there an absolute bad idea.

Yeah. At the current rate they are often at or less than 1cpp. I love the local boutique hotels at half the cost of the chains.
I probably won't be back to Bangkok for any considerable amount of time in the near future though and have usually stayed an extra day or two to get clothes. That tailor I recommended has been pretty good. I've got a silly amount of bespoke clothes now, so extended dates aren't necessary. I've been pretty impressed with the quality. After many wears, my suits seem to keep in better shape than the typical mid-range off the rack stuff and are definitely higher quality in appearance, but I'm no fabric conniseur.

That whole post just made me jelly.
I'm a little fat anyways so I just keep telling myself it was good I didn't get any this time around.

Hah. I was eating pretty good myself my first visit there. I've had a few "adjustments" but it's an incentive to quit being fat
.
Also, for the Disney parents out there, the swan is moving to a cat 5.

Is the Delta Gold Amex card (gives you 30k miles after spending 1k in 3months) any good? Or do they offer substantially more miles randomly?
