In your pocket.

Seriously, what is short? The markets have been really volatile/trending down lately and wouldn't be a great place for a few months if that's what you're aiming for with "short."

1 year or so. Wanting the money to do a little for me instead of just sitting in a bank account. Definitely not trying to build a retirement portfolio, this would be separate from that.

Edit: I see that's been covered.

Chase bank has a $300 bonus when you open a checking account and meet certain criteria. That's about as good as it gets.

Credit unions sometimes offer high interest checking. Mine earns 3.25% on up to $15k and is deposited monthly assuming monthly requirements (direct deposit or automatic payment, 12 POS card transactions, view account online at least once) are met.

you know how to play Mississippi Stud? start there. If 00 hasn't come up in 40 spins try there lol. market is crazy right now. I shorted oil since june of last year. also rode the highs and lows which was easy last year. I will eventually jump into the Asian market b/c its cheap and they are about to do major infrastructure expansions in SE Asia.
