here is the rule with baseball you can go pro right out of high school, if you go to college then you have to stay untill you turn 21, which for most people is their junior year.

It's for pro baseball too. I believe if you pass on the draft you wait 3 years.

Question: What are the basic eligibility rules contained in the High School, College or Junior College Rules in Major League Rule 3?
Answer: High School -- Generally, only those high school students in the United States or Canada who have exhausted their eligibility to participate in high school athletics are eligible for selection.
College -- Generally, a student at a four-year college is eligible after completion of their junior year or if the student is at least 21 years old.
Junior College -- All junior college students are eligible for selection. The applicable Major League Rules are more specific than this general answer. Players with specific questions about eligibility should consult a Major League scout or Office of the Commissioner of Baseball.

I believe that is correct. Juniors and red shirt sophmores (DJ Lemahieu) are allowed if the age permits.

The rule is if you are on scholarship and play baseball and football you have to be on scholarship for football.

not the question i was responding too, and i don't think it matters what scholarship he is on he will just receive an athletic scholarship which applies to all sports, its not a football scholarship or a baseball scholarship its an athletic scholarship.

If he is on scholarship then he has to be on an football scholarship. His Athletic scholarship counts towards football totals. So it may not matter to ZL but it matters to the athletic departments. But that wasn't the question.
So basically we have him for three years regardless of if he redshirts or not.

He has some type of speech impediment with his s sounds. I know the kid can't help it, but I kind of laughed at the 50 second mark. Reminded me of the Cable Guy.

don't think he has to be on a football scholarship. miles and mainieri talked about mitchell and jones last year, mainieri said he would take on mitchell's scholarship b/c he would focus on baseball but miles would keep jones b/c he played spring football. miles said he would keep both on football scholarships.

I disagree with you completely. Let me paint this picture for you. JJ or JL transfers or JJ has a solid year and turns pro. Who plays QB next year or the year after that? Steven Rivers as a true freshman?
Zach Lee is equally important on both fronts. I think more so for football.
I agree. How exactly did J. Lee get thrown to the wolves with little prep? Oh, yeah, Perri-screwup got canned, Hatch broke his leg, and a part time performer was suddenly forced to carry the entire load. I am glad about the Rivers commit, but would like it even more if Z. Lee can improve a lot this fall and compete to start in 2011.

From practice video, he throws the best "looking" ball

If you're attending a 4 year college (JC guys can get drafted every year) you have to stay 3 years unless you turn 21 within 45 days of the draft. Lee's birthday is in September so he would have to stay 3 years.

We have a better depth chart at QB than Florida or Bama
Really? We have JJ and JL who are the same classification. Then we have Zach Lee. THen we have.............
Florida has Brantley who has basically zero experience as the starter. They then only have true freshmen behind him. Brantley has two years of eligibility left.
Bama has McElroy who we all know is no better than Jefferson starting. Then they have no experience behind him. McElroy is done after this year.
LSU has Jefferson going into his second year as the starter. We have J. Lee with starting experience as a back up. Z. Lee will most likely be red shirted this year. Stephen Rivers coming in next year. Jefferson and JL also have two years of eligibility left.
We have by far the best depth chart of the three.
