English only, please.

His old man and Dale Brown are a major part of why the program stinks. Both need to be shown the door. GTFO with that crap.

You already have a former player as a bench coach. It takes money to win which the previous AD failed CMM. You need a coach who can revitalize the program. Unfortunately, Temple is not the candidate that boosters are eager to support; it's still Louisiana!

So you basically want to ruin the program more by giving more access to Collis Temple Jr.

His dad and Dale Brown meddling over the past few years in the basketball program is part of the problem. No we don’t need him. He would be Johnny Jones 2.0

Exactly…. Nothing personal or hateful just needs to show he can coach first. Playing and coaching are completely different. Get experience and we will see.

Why do fans get so enamored with you have to get a guy that gets the university and played there?

B/c that’s what this university needs.
Collis Temple with his hands even more in the program.
When he and Dale (Dale may already be) are officially too old to be a part of things. The program may finally go somewhere.

Nope. Being a well-known and beloved former member of the LSU basketball team does not translate into success. Anyone remember a guy we all really loved as a player by the name of Johnny Jones?

Thanks Dad for promoting your son

Yeah let’s keep missing out on Louisiana recruit
This isn't 2005. And it isn't football. Basketball is, and has long been, a "national" sport. The Arkansas team that just kicked LSU's arse has 1 player on the roster from Arkansas. their best player is from Detroit. Plus, even guys from LA are going to want NIL money to play for LSU. Finally, recruiting and developing HS prospects is not how teams are built any more. I'm certain a good coach, from any part of the country, could do what is necessary to sign a good LA HS prospect if warranted.
DO NOT make a hire based upon "local ties". Get the best HC you can...from wherever

I have nothing against Garrett but the Temple / Brown crew needs to be purged from LSU basketball

Never been a coach. No thanks.

LOL, maybe Coach Wade could hire him as an asst, but unlikely.

You don’t need local ties anymore. You need someone like Jay Johnson or Kiffin at the helm. Someone who works hard and will generate their own donations etc.
Which is one of the reasons Wade works in this scenario. He is that type of worker and has the charisma to get $$$ donated to the program.
For the missing out on the LA players…. For the ones to twos of those that come out of the state per year that are must gets…. You just have to outbid the others for them now. Yes relationships can help somewhat, but the days of have a Temple or Taz on the sidelines are over.
No offense to Taz either, it’s just he doesn’t need to be there just b/c he’s from the area. He needs to be an asset because of his abilities.
I will add that our seats are relatively close to the bench. He is always in the game and I guess for the lack of a better term…. The hype guy on the bench.
Unlike McMahon…. Who has the personality of a frickin door knob.
We refused to go last night…. Not to mention the number of long time season ticket holders around us who left from the previous game that said…. See yall next year, we aren’t coming back until something changes.

First thought is to think of how below average the Johnny Jones tenure was, and how memories of this will color many of the responses to this post (right or wrong).
That being said, I like the unconventional thinking here, though I don't agree. Thanks for sharing.
