Rallying to be Fullerton down 8-0. Tiger bats went gorilla and i believe hit back to back to back homers to ignite a furious rally.
Beating Irvine in the comeback game and sub sequential homerun game to send us to the CWS. I remember seeing some fans from Irvine after the 2nd game and saying don't even bother coming tomorrow. It's going to be a massacre.

1997 regional game against Long Beach State. Went into extras and lasted till almost midnight. Skip getting tossed for arguing a balk call.

Can't remember the year, but beating East Carolina in a regional, after losing to them the first time and being down 6 runs in the 2nd game was great.

Thanks for mentioning this. The Tulane fans were p*ssed, but I loved it!

Omaha is what everyone talks about and rightfully so but the best LSU baseball games were played when the regionals had 6 teams. The 4 team regionals has taken some of the drama out of the regionals in my opinion.
My personal favorites.
That game was so intense b/c it was the Sat late night elimination game. Then we had to come back on Sunday and win twice. We did.
Regional game vs. Cal St Fullerton. Was down by like 8 or 9 runs. Then Brandon Bowe comes in and shuts them down and LSU hits like 8 home runs to win the game.
Finally it was not the position you wanted to be in but when you lose that first Saturday game. Then have to come back and win that night and then win 2 on Sunday. S Alabama and College of Charleston come to mind.

can't name just 1. these are limited to games i actually attended...
1. LSU/Irvine game 3. the HR onslaught we brought to bury UCI (last game in box makes it #1)
2. LSU/Ga Tech: 19 run inning
3. LSU vs. ?????: regional in the mid 90s. They oversold the stadium or something, & let us kids sit on the field in the foul territory down the LF & RF lines.

my first LSU baseball game. April 19th, 2008 against Georgia. I remember a fairly small crowd (granted our team was 23-15 and it was a Sunday game) and us being dominated the whole game. In the eighth inning, however, we came in down 7-1, and had the most incredible 7 run inning in the eighth, putting us ahead 8-7. we ended up losing in the ninth...but I knew the magic was there for that team. That was the last regular season loss in the original Alex Box Stadium, as the Tigers tied the next day, and won every game until UCI game 1.

I remember that, that was a good East Carolina team. The game was played on Memorial Day on Monday due to rain

God...all these moments everyone is bringing up gives me goosebumps thinking about them.
definitely miss this...
I'll share a non regional moment:
LSU vs Southern, I think it was sometime in the late 90's...random midweek night game. Southern was throwing a pitcher who was supposed to be "special". When the kid was warming up in the bullpen, the Southern team stood in a line, so LSU couldn't see what he was throwing ect...LSU proceeded to win something like 28-1. Blair Barbier went something like 6 for 6. LSU was blasting homeruns left and right. It was definitely a fun time to watch..
Every regional moment that has been discussed has been so memorable for me. It really is amazing what type of comebacks LSU has made in baseball. I would also like to throw in the game vs Irvine @ UCLA. That was a monumental comeback a few years ago. I remember leaving work early and rushing home to watch it. My wife getting on my shite, because we were supposed to go out to eat that night and we never left and stood some friends up LOL. Watkins hit the double over the right fielder's head. I was going ballistic lol.

The rain delayed game in a regional against Northwestern State when the NWS batboy was sliding on the tarp. I'll never forget that big boy in the overalls.

LSU-So. Cal they had to beat the Trojans twice at the Box to advance to the CWS. Did'nt have a ticket and went anyway hoping to get in. Not only did I get in I sat on the front row right behind home plate in the scout section. The game was awesome and of course the Tigers won both games and advanced to the CWS. Also back when the Tigers were in
College Station and had to beat the Aggies twice and did, one of the greatest comebacks in the Skip Bertman era. By the way during that time That was one of the toughest places to play; Double decked stadium right on top of the field. The fans were very brutal but the Tigers prevailed again.

2008 super regional game 3
Even the Harlem globetrotters weren't beating LSU that night. It was great being there for all three games that weekend/Monday.

got a good story about that game, the boat
me, my dad, and uncle decided to go last second. we get out there and there is a line for tickets well past the railroad tracks down skip bertman. looking pretty grim. some vendor was walking up and down the line selling water, i stop him and buy a bottle. about 5 minutes later he randomly comes back to us and asks if we want to buy his extra vendor passes. he says we can walk in any gate with the vendor pass and just go stand wherever.
we buy them for like $20 each, all walk in different gates, meet up in RF SRO, and witness the last game at DA BOX!!!

Spring '84 or '85 (very early in Skip's career). I had just gotten back to campus Sunday afternoon. We were playing the rubber game vs State. State was great then - Palmeiro, Will Clark, Brantley, Thigpen, et al. In that day State was the only SEC program who had taken baseball seriously (credit Ron Polk).
Baseball hadn't taken off at LSU and one could basically walk into the Box and get a good seat. Anyway I got to watch the last few innings of our series win. This was huge because it immediately put us on par with the best in the SEC.
