No he played well, not well enough to beat Alabama, and JJ also led his team to be undefeated, until he couldn't do shite against Alabama. As I said, they are tied at the hip, and they were both mediocre.

You said one was clearly inferior.

JJ will have better career stats and win percentage, he was the starter.

That is why I used YPA, Ratios, and Ratings. JL had plenty a body of work for those to be fairly accurate measurements.

Now, if you say JL improved his senior season, well you are correct. But you are somehow saying Jennings cant, so that makes you pretty foolish.

You know what's funny. Is I actually agree with the theory of this. I don't think there will be a two quarterback system. And if there is, I really don't agree. Both have similar skill sets. It's not like dual threat vs. a pocket passer. There's no reason to play both. Name a start. Center the offense and run with it. If after half the season the offense is subpar make a change. That's what happened when I played football(albeit high school). Doesn't matter who starts. I believe in picking one starter. If there are two or three losses by November no matter who is the starter expect a change. Too much talent to ride it. This year is definitely a let's see who the stars are.

Look there is a chance to stars could align and we make a run, but the rational thought is that we take a couple of losses, figure out who are the stars on this team and make a run next year.

Both quarterbacks have potential to be stars. It doesn't matter. Just support the team.

Note: The following post should be read to the tune of the Spiderman theme song from the 1960's cartoon.

Spiderman, Spiderman

Starts lame threads just cuz he can.

He bashes Les, don't know why

Probably because he's just THAT guy

Look out! It's a thread from the spiderman!

Is he a fan? Listen bud

Claims to have purple and gold blood

Why does he start a thread?

Really makes one scratch their head.

Hey there! That troll is Spiderman!

In the chill of night
After a big win

He is on the boards, mad qb2 wasn't in.

Spiderman, Spiderman, super troll Spiderman

Total wins, he's ignored
Douchebaggery is his reward

Here trolls the spiderman.
Here trolls the spiderman.
Here trolls the spiderman!

I'm not saying Lee was John Elway, just using it as an example of Les refusing to bench a QB that was playing horribly for most of his career. I'm hoping this doesn't happen again this year if Jennings indeed plays below average.

What did Jennings do to make you think this might happen? Guy had one great outing and one ho hum outing as a freshman. Now he's JJ?

This is probably some sad defense mechanism.
He predicts poor offensive performances and 8 win seasons so, if we win more he's happy to be wrong. But if we win 8 or fewer, he can be a self-righteous prick who thinks he's smarter than everyone.

a horrible performance with a pick 6 in bowl game and an even worse spring game performance with 2 pick 6s. Not saying he will be JJ, just saying so far I've seen nothing to be excited about. Let's not sensationalize his Arkansas game drive. He threw an long TD to a WR who was open by 20 yards against a winless team in the SEC.

I'm just a realist. In 8 of 9 years under Les we have lost 2 or more games per season. In 4 of 9 years we have lost 3 or more games. These people who think LSU is making the playoffs this year are out of their minds. We are losing at least 3 games with as young as we are.

to be fair, did not throw a pick-6 against Iowa...

so he's a bad QB because he hit a wide open receiver?! how many times did JJ do that? how many times did Lee do that? how many times did Mett do that!? do they all suck because they hit a WR who was "wide open"

winless team in the SEC.

suddenly Arkansas got reduced to being John Curtis because they didn't win a conference game last year. grow up kid, seriously. we play in the toughest division of the toughest conference in the country. that "winless team" was giving us their best because we are their superbowl each and every year, they were beating us with Mett starting AND every running back we had healty AND one of our two top receivers still playing. so no oversensationalization of the game-winning pass is needed. it was fricking sensational and we'll talk about it if we damn well want.

No, you're not. You've never, ever said one positive thing about the program at all.

Yet you claim to be some hardcore LSU fan when your posts say otherwise.

You constantly bash the team, Miles, bring up the whole JJ/JL thing (just like in this thread) and then turn around and say, "Hey, I'm just a realist" when people call you out for trolling the board.

It's all you ever do.

Yay! I was the 40th downvote!

Maybe you'd feel more comfortable pulling for Louisiana Tech or Tulane? You never contribute anything positive, just a bunch of crying about the HC. Your input is not needed.

Can you give me a list of teams in the top 15 that both:
A) Aren't "out of their minds" to think their team has a shot at a 4 team playoff
B) LSU has no shot of beating?

Leslie will make the conservative call and start Jennings.

If Jennings had started several games last year, I would agree, but 1.25 games of experience isn't enough to trump Harris, if he is the better QB. Neither guy has experience, so I think CLM will let the best one start.

Just don't understand why people lost faith in Jennings so easily. Kid made some great plays against Arkansas and showed promise. Then he looked human against a Big Five team that had a month to prepare for a freshman making his first start. I got news for you, whether its Jennings or Harris there WILL be growing pains.

This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I also do not understand this enthusiasm for Harris when both of them have similar skill sets. They both have strong arms. They both run the ball well. I was impressed with Jennings in the Arkansas game. The bowl game was about what I'd expect with a true freshman starting his first game as a BOWL GAME, on a wet field. He got the win and didn't lose the game. I stopped putting any stock in spring games when Jordan Jefferson was lighting it up in 2011.

I think both of these QBs could win a lot of games.........and eventually an SEC championship..........for us. I just want them to start the one that the coaching staff thinks is the most ready.

Solid post and I agree with just about everything except that Harris clearly has a stronger arm. Not to say he is necessarily a better QB, and I agree that both QBs have the potential to win a lot of games for us in the next few years.
