No I don’t think Stingley deserves to be harassed by our fans or the media.

But I also don’t think that’s why he would opt out.

Go cry, Jake.
MOST people on Stingley's case are upset about his weak effort at making a tackle toward the end of the game. If he is going to blame football fans for calling him out over something he SHOULD have been able to accomplish, he will have a VERY miserable career.

When you are the Face of this program, and is highly regarded, with your current NIL status, you should be the leader of this team and take the responsibility! You should face the criticism seriously and be a better leader!!!

Even if it's not, allowing the narrative would do some major damage to us, publicly, which will affect recruiting.

The NFL also values guys who compete their arse off at all costs and can be counted on by their coaches and teammates. A guy opting out this year sends a really bad message about competitive character if a team is thinking about paying you millions. It’s no coincidence chase has had a horrible preseason.

SFP is a giant douche and the original post is worded terribly. But, he isn't wrong. None of this is on the players.

Bash the coaches. They're the one's who are setting up our players to fail.

nah. The NFL is just as soft as you're pretending our players are. This isn't the 90s anymore.

See that’s the thing that says a lot. You’re supposed to be a leader. A LEADER. And you’re crying about the fans. This team is screwed.

Stingley deserves zero criticism from the way he played. And there are people taking shots at him on Twitter under jordy’s interview stuff with his dad.

LSU & their fans have zero leverage when it comes to Stingley. He honestly doesn’t have to be playing at all. So don’t be shocked when he is ran off

As for his dad, I didn’t listen to the full interview. Just the highlights Jordy posted. And it didn’t seem like pouting. What was he saying?

People are just mad stingley missed that last tackle. And even he will admit that was ugly.

Can you imagine Stingley explaining to NFL reps that he quit the season because idiots on a message board were trash talking him. Funny thought.

If he quits, it’s because we have no chance this year and he wants to avoid injury and get paid.

Agreed. The one play at the end was the only thing anyone could talk about.. there were about 100 worse individual plays in the game by others. The coaches ultimately aren’t putting guys in position to succeed.

Just bringing it up and kind of insinuating/hinting it could lead to Jr opting out. It’s shocking to me how parents and players have so many media spots now. I don’t remember it being that way before.

Listening to Stingley Sr., it doesn’t look like he wants his son to opt out. He did tell people to be careful what you wish for though.

It’s not this way anywhere else but LSU.

Well this wasn't well thought out.

Really doesn't matter whether he stays or goes, does it? He's in the NFL next year no matter what. How does that benefit LSU? And like you said, Stingley isn't turning this thing around all by himself.

So as long as EdO is still coach, Stingley will continue whiffing at tackles to protect from injury. Let someone get some game experience that will be put to use next year when LSU may once again field a competitive team.
