Really doesn't matter whether he stays or goes, does it? He's in the NFL next year no matter what. How does that benefit LSU? And like you said, Stingley isn't turning this thing around all by himself.
So as long as EdO is still coach, Stingley will continue whiffing at tackles to protect from injury. Let someone get some game experience that will be put to use next year when LSU may once again field a competitive team.
Do you think Stingley publicly leaving LSU b/c of fan vitriol will be a positive story for LSU moving forward, especially in recruiting?

Just bringing it up and kind of insinuating/hinting it could lead to Jr opting out
Then he should just opt out now, because he has no grit at all, if that’s the case, and in fact he might be a cancer in the team at this point. I don’t want to think that, but if your best player is the type that would quit because he got his feelings hurt by fans, then it’s no wonder that the team isn’t playing with grit and heart.
If he quits at all this year, then it was just a matter of time until it happened, and we need to get rid of all such players if we want any chance of seeing a team that will play with heart, even if they lose the games.

Haven’t heard his interview yet but has anyone really made a serious request for Jr to step aside?
I would hope Jr could drown out the bullshite.

Stingley’s dad went on the radio to complain about comments made on TD and threatened the fanbase by saying, “be careful what you wish for”.

Again if fan vitriol gets his goat then he should reevaluate. Needs to shrug that shite off.

Stimgley was fine, in spite of a horrible defensive gameplan/scheme/playcalling.
Play calling wasn't the problem.

Which ...in his 1st year got to experience the greatest CFB season of all time...
Guess he is like O...content

The NFL also values guys who compete their arse off at all costs and can be counted on by their coaches and teammates. A guy opting out this year sends a really bad message about competitive character if a team is thinking about paying you millions. It’s no coincidence chase has had a horrible preseason.
Chase had a horrible preseason and is rusty AF…but the point is that he still went 5th overall to a team that arguably had greater needs than WR. That was going to happen regardless of his reason for not playing.
Look, I’m not saying I’m in favor of guys quitting on their teams but the NFL values talent and potential way more than the intangibles you’ve laid out. It’s not even close. They’ve made that glaringly clear. Nobody really believed that guys opting out of college games last year were truly worried about COVID. The NFL simply let it happen because, as I said, they don’t care one way or the other.

See Terrace Marshall
Opted out during covid season when many others were doing the same and wasn’t viewed as a top 10 talent. I’m willing to bet he slid deeper in the draft for reasons other than a questionable medical.

I definitely worry about LSU’s future with Texas and OU being in the league. A Sark/Jimbo/Riley combination could freeze us out of some the recruits that we want out of TX if we are still mediocre 5 years from now.

You're talking to a bunch of idiots. This board is full of them.
Many of which can't see the forest from the trees when it comes to shite like this

He certainly has not played like the best corner in college football. I'm not saying he sucks or disregarding the impact of coaching but it is simply stupid to try and smugly pretend that his play has been anywhere close to his 2019 level.

He stopped playing in January 2020, that doesn't help anyone... but it is what it is.

1st of the play calling was fine on both sides of the ball. The execution was horrible

1) If he opts out, the reason he uses won;t be the fans. Because NFL teams will drop him way down their list, if he does.
2) Once EdO is fired this year, people wont he be talking about what Stingley did.

Coach O has to get control of the team somehow or we are F’d either way.
Would you rather watch a team giving it their all every week, or do you want to watch that bullshite we saw Saturday night?
Can we have a team that handles adversity well when its best player is a quitter? If he isn’t a quitter, then he has all the opportunity in the world to prove it.

If you let players dictate every term, that is not going to work. Saban benched his starting TE, it they literally spoke about it during the game for like 2-3 minutes.
Tough love. Each party has to get benefit for it to work.
The guy really hasn't played football since January 2020, you can see it in his body language.
