If sting jr opts out the rest of the year, it’s going to cost him a lot of money at the next level. There’s no covid excuse to blame it on this year. It will just appear that he’s a quitter to the nfl folks when things get hard.

I think LSU will be just fine regardless of what one player does.
Hell LSU could kiss his arse and he can be another Ryan Clark in 20 years. Who knows?
Fans are gonna be fans. The players need to know that. There again, where’s the leadership at the top though.
You don’t see bama players worried about fan criticism or quitting.
It all starts with Orgeron. He needs to address his teams toughness and communicate with them about how to handle stuff like this. You know since he treats them all like his children

Oh yeah the Streisand Effect is real. I would never had advised him to say those things publicly.

not from LSU. huge difference
Do you really think some of these payouts (at least lump ones) don’t have penalty clauses attached for opting out or hitting the portal? If I were a business handing money to a player for my favorite school, you had better believe there would be strings attached.
I’m sure any payment-based contracts would just be cancelled. He would get it all back somewhere else, but not for a few months.
The problem with that play in the 4th quarter wasn’t the tackle. It was that he got beat badly right off the snap by one of their trash WRs who hadn’t done shite all game on a play that could have at least kept us in it until the end. He didn’t just blow the tackle. He blew the entire play. He earned some criticism. Not as much as 5-10 other guys on the defense he outplayed the rest of the game, but some.

He's not being paid by LSU to deal with that sort of idiocy.
Why does he need to "deal with" message board criticism?

The fact that he did and felt comfortable enough in doing so is a huge indictment on the program and culture at LSU. It goes beyond football.
We got problems and no one to fix them.

I highly doubt that teams looked at, say, Jamaar Chase and said, “this kid hasn’t played in a year, we probably shouldn’t draft him top 5, but we’ll give him a break because COVID”
NFL teams draft elite talent. They don’t draft guys because they “put in their time in college” or whatever people think happens when a guy plays college games that NFL teams don’t care about.

I don't get why he should put any stock into fan ranting.
It means very little. It's really just a form of entertainment.

Let’s face it. If he quits, it’ll be a symptom, not the disease.
Well said. I think it has zero impact on anything. The culture within the program is cancerous at this point and it’s got nothing to do with fans.
Hell most of our fans were slobbering over this team 48 hours ago and talking shite about dominant we were gonna be! Now it’s their fault the team played like scared women?
Give me a phucking break

Deep down they all know O is an idiot, many of whom were sold a bill of goods by O. By admitting this, they admit they were hoodwinked by an idiot. That's why guys like Jordy are projecting, too.

I’m more than okay with players opting out of it’s needed to give O the boot

Sting Not Wrapping Up
One play? Here it looks like he thinks he’s Kam Chancellor and doesn’t wrap up in his attempt to tackle Charbonnet.

I agree SFP
But I also believe if this team is 4-4 before Bama he will most likely opt out and I wouldn't blame him at all.
He's been incredible and will be great in the league.

The opt out shite is to easy, starts with one, then two, two turns to four and so on.
Let him and his arse hat dad go, the problem IS with O!
Worked out well for Chase. Gorilla glue wouldn't help his arse.

Go back and watch the first quarter. He had a perfect tackle on DTR to end a drive. He didn’t have a bad game. He just had one really bad play. It just happened to be the play that put the game out of reach.

Our whole D had quit by that point b/c it was clear we had no answer. Yeah that's an indictment on the players, individually, but it's clear they knew there was no hope. People have to remember a lot of these guys were coached by Aranda. They know what a good DC is.

Tell us who said stingley was the single problem on defense?
