NIL is changing the responsibilities of the players and it only makes sense. You get paid for the work; expect to be scrutinized likely.

It is time for Stingley to put forth the effort of his freshman year!! Last year’s opt-out-divas set a bad precedent. Going into his 3rd year, playing hard 2/3 is too much to ask of a 5 star?
There is ENERGY and there is POTENTIAL ENERGY....why can’t fans expect a return to EFFORT and ENERGY???

Agreed...and that's what's wrong these days. We may have not been as good the last few games last year without our stars...but I'd rather see the effort. Entitlement will get college football to where the NFL is now...sooner than later

It’s pretty clear Sting will opt out/shut it down if the team is on a downward trend this season anyway so it’s not like anything really changes.

Anybody calling Stingley the best CB in college football needs their eyes examined. That kid played Saturday the same way he played last year, half assed. He hasn’t played with any fire since his freshman year. If we see it. The NFL sees it. He really needs to have a good year this year or he will be the next Grant Delpit.

They gave up 38 points to a middling Pac 12 team with Stingley. I don’t think it matters much if he pulls a but-hurt opt out or not. It’s probably better for the next coaching staff if he does opt out since he’s gone after this year anyway. Get one of the younger guys reps so we can get back to playing defense in ‘22 after O get’s shown the door this Dec.
