Tennessee is one of the last remaining SEC teams that hadn’t upgraded to the latest and greatest. Well, here’s their proposed new park:

Will it still be 275 in the corners?

Do they have enough money to make it a regulation outfield?

You know they will keep center at 390…

The Box just needs a total redo, sadly.

If they make it a touch smaller they can host slow pitch soft ball tourneys. Fit right in with those slapdicks.

Looks like they’re adding some tables and an awning. Good for them I guess

This "upgrade" is weak as hell

LSU was the first SEC program to build a “modern” stadium. How did they get it so, so wrong?

We did it on the cheap.

False. Baum was in 1996 and USCe built theirs the same year. Both came out better with Baum getting multiple upgrades between 03 and 07. And they got another expansion in 2021.

That's the problem with being the first to go "modern". You have nothing to compare it to. When they first opened the new box, it was by far the best in the country. When everyone else upgrades after you, they just keep one-upping each other and you fall behind.

Again, this is a false narrative. Baum was already 100% seatbacks with suites. It didn’t have the player areas we got, but the fan experience was always better. Same with USCe. Built the same year. All seatbacks and suites. We brought our fricking LF bleachers over from the old box. The suites weren’t even complete when it opened. RF had no stands. It was shite from the start if the bar was meant to be excellence.

Cheap AD.

We don’t have that now. I think Scott will focus on basketball arena first though, as it is much worse.

I feel like I’ve beaten this drum long enough over the years that people finally took notice. There aren’t enough people that realize we drug the LF bleachers from the Old Box over to the New Box.

Skip claimed “the people who sit there wanted us to do that” to make an excuse for why they went cheap and did that.

Mikelbr might like hard things on his arse but I can assure you people would rather have new bleachers or chairbacks out there.

That was the commitment they made to keep Vitello there when we offered him the job.

I’ve known it from the start. It’s where hcb’s seats are. His seat was completely broken from 2016 to 2019 fwiw.

Same reason our roads fall apart two years after a redo... Corruption in the construction industry is rampant, LSU went cheap, bad contracts with groups like Aramark affects atmosphere and maintenance, and 2009 was just before you saw massive tech integration and advancement in large venues.
