There are obviously tons, but this is one of my favorites.

Pre-season, our WR Corps was viewed nationally to be the 3rd or 4th best in the SEC.

Mix in a little Joe Squared....

2nd or 1st best WR Corps in the country.

It’s crazy

I tried finding somewhere that counts the number of drops but I don't believe anyone really keeps track. That's been the biggest difference from last year with our WRs. They hardly ever drop the ball.

What? Early last season there were lots of drops. I want to say through week 5 we had like 8 drops.

I was looking at a preseason Athlon magazine I bought this summer last night.

Joe was the #6 QB in the SEC behind Mond, Franks, and Bryant...

I've watched every minute of every game, and I don't recall more than 4 drops total.

There was one bad one v. GA Southern by a backup when Brennan was in.

Chase dropped a TD (not an easy catch, but he had two hands on it) v. Texas.

CEH dropped that 3rd down pass v. Texas to start 3rd quarter.

Marshall missed one v. NW.

Unbelievable improvement from last year to this year.

Sullivan dropped one against GA Southern if I'm not mistaken. He played good last week though. Props to Sullivan in general. The man has been a solid player for us for a long time.

Is this where I post that we've completed passes to NINETEEN different players through 3 games?

And thirteen have caught at least 2 passes through 3 games.

TEs have caught 9 passes through 3 games, 10 if you count Carter.

And passing isn't just for moving the ball, it is about scoring - LSU has already thrown for 11 TDs (all Burrow). Counting CEH's halfback pass in 2018, that just 5 short of the entire 2018 season.

Let's go back to the last "great" LSU offense, 2013 - Mett and AJ combined for 23 TDs for the year. Yes, defenses are going to firm up, but it wouldn't be crazy to suggest that Joe, alone, gets to that number in October. Mett threw for 3k+ (good for third best), and Burrow is on pace for 4k. The start is so strong, it would almost be disappointing if Burrow doesn't crack Rohan's incredible 2001 season. He doesn't even need to average 250/gm the rest of the way to get there.

Now it is unlikely we will have 2 1k receivers, but Jefferson almost certainly gets there and Marshall and Chase should be over 500 and perhaps 1 of them breaks 750. Of course, throwing the ball to 19 or 20 people AND having a 1k and, perhaps 2 600-yd receivers is hella impressive for anybody, much less LSU.

10,000 balls on JUGGS over the Summer apparently has made a huge difference. Players hated it, but it’s paying off.

yep, that is the point/key. Make the hard stuff easy and the easy stuff regular.

We teach our DBs to do the same... whatever it takes, pushing, distraction, batting the ball, tugging, hell even a shocker here and there... make a catch as difficult as possible.

Opposition isn't getting close to doing that on a regular basis. 3rd & 17 looked like Jefferson against the band, not a safety we dearly wanted.

The thing is you won't be able to compare total number of drops between seasons. You'll need to compare drop rates, because we pass quite a bit more this year.

You know, I completely forgot that Sterns was a LSU commitment for 6 months.

I guess this shows I don't hold OOS kids' actions against them nearly as much as I do Louisiana kids.

It was a drop. It was a tough play to make, but burrow threw a catchable ball.
