Not sure how you can say either indicates the truth
Elite or rock bottom
Both extremes

Everyone on the team is responsible….

So is Jay Johnson
Agreed
Wild to say next year is a big for Johnson's job security coming off a NC last year, but there's not a chance in hell we can have a season like this next season

It’s been unacceptable no doubt. But you’re down two starters and relying on way too many bullpen arms that you wouldn’t if you had Evans and Moore. I think things are different if Evans and Moore are healthy especially with how the offense is performing right now.

After Jay's first natty we had a terrible hangover that is somewhat buried into history because that team was talented enough and got hot enough to recover and make a regional.
No such luck this time.

The 2024 season was a down season which is acceptable coming off a natty
This season is not that. This is borderline unacceptable considering LSU's resources. People hate when I compare other sports to baseball , but this is like Alabama football and Duke basketball being second to last in their conference

ETA: Thanks, Tiger1988, for pointing out to me that I misread the part that I quoted
One little "a" completely changes that sentence This post was edited on 5/10/26 at 1:18 pm

Evans had an ERA of 6.65 in the SEC prior to his injury.

No it’s not that’s stupid talk ! They are going to be better next year with this core group coming back ! They will be better will have more time to get players out the portal ! Even if Jay has another year like this next year which I highly doubt he’s not on the hot seat ! Look at what they lost last year and out that with injuries from this year this is the results is what it is ! You don’t lose your 2 front line starters and just expect to win with freshman and sophomore’s gotta hit in the portal Jay missed on some and made some mistakes it happens!

You’re getting down voted because you clipped only half of the sentence.
Yes, he doesn’t have anyone in this business as good as him. His recent track record as well as his past speak volumes about the competitiveness of his rotations.
LSU had critical injuries that kept them out of the field of 64. It’s nothing more than that.

I think you've seen me enough to know that I'm really only trying to point out an inaccurate statement. But I guess others have not. I think Yeskie is one of the better pitching coaches in baseball, but credit Johnson with 2023.

I guess I was pointing out the poster didn’t give Yeskie credit for 2023. That’s all. It all good
With that the 2022 staff was pretty bad but caught some breaks.
Injuries and the fact Noot, Williams and Rizzy, key members just last season have crapped the bed. I expected more from those 3.

I see it now, I missed the "a". I'm afairly good reader, most of the time. But, in the words of a coworker who struggles with reading aloud, sometimes I don't read too good, me.
Thank you for clearing that up for me.

You starters have to be a little deeper - losing two starters should not tank your season they we sunk to the bottom so fast

He's worth having a conversation about. He's done some great things and also failed miserably. Next year will be very important for him
