Nobody's going to hire him as a head coach. He'll also never going to coach in the big leagues like Wes Johnson did.

you got that right.
He brings nothing to the pitching staff, quite obviously. These guys are pitching just like they did on opening day.
Lead the nation in walks, hit batters
19 runs in last 13 innings....when it counts. How pitiful can it be and some don't think Yeskie has had any influence on that production? That's absurd.

Also the reason LSU games last 4 hours, the number of balls and walks and need for pitching changes are insane

People say that can't happe. They forget about what happened to Chris Lemonis.
comparing Johnson to Lemonis is laughable.

Looks like Yeskie struggles to develop guys who don’t pound the zone.

Just about every pitcher in the last three years that can locate, they all get better.

Those that don’t locate well, get worse.

God forbid the best pitching coach in the nation expect his pitchers to throw fricking strikes.

You guys are fricking stupid.

isn’t that development in a nutshell?

The guys in this thread are right, yeskie is just lucky to have stumbled into jobs at some of the premier programs in the country for some of the best coaches in the country. Which is why he has the accolades he has. Dude obviously sucks and all these head coaches are morons and don’t know what they are doing hiring him.

He's far from the best pitching coach in the country.

Yup. Evans was good at letting it rip last year, there's a transition you have to make there. Schmidt had great stuff but command has been an issue. He has improved, though maybe not as much as we hoped...it happens. Moore went down. Paz is a freshman facing arguably the best offense in the conference at their place.

Some changes need to be made but Yeskie's seat is cold as ice.

I love how it’s Yeslie’s fault these guys can’t throw a fastball for a strike.

is that what he calls coaching....expecting them to throw strikes. Is there not something a top pitching coach can do to teach them how to throw more strikes, and especially not hang a curve or a flat fastball on 0-2 count? Is that asking too much of a pitching coach?

I think everyone in this thread expects a collegiate pitcher to be able to throw more strikes than balls.

A foreign concept to LSU with the exception of a few few guys.

And we continue to call pitches like our guys have elite command. We have the worst ERA in the SEC. And I’d swear we lead the country in wild pitches. How does that not fall on the pitching coach?

Don’t worry, the pumpers will start correctly blaming Yeskie when JJ fires him after the season.

These are all highly recruited pitchers. No way that we should lead the nation in walks given up.
Yeskie needs studs to be successful. This is the worst pitching that I’ve ever seen at LSU. He is NOT developing them!

So it's Jay's fault for recruiting? Someone needs to be accountable for LSU not being able to throw a strike.
