re: Y'all are right about the refs and bama

I'm just wondering how you explain that stat if the refs are in our pocket..
So it's a timing thing? So why didn't we get an obvious targeting call in the OM game against Hurts? They went up by three scores after that no call? That just wasn't a good time to call that? They just didn't think that we needed that call, down by 18 points?
The call that prompted this thread would have had absolutely no impact on the game, so how does your timing theory play into that? They would have called that penalty, if it is true what you say about the timing of penalties.
Please explain, because I sincerely do not understand.

quote:Even on your first TD pass, the Bama DB was tackling your wideout from the moment the ball was thrown. Unbelievable! Didn't matter because he made the catch, and scored. But it was blatant.
we never got the benefit of PI and they got it all game long

There was a play where their DB literally grabbed our WRs jersey for 20 yards down the field, and it was never called. They just didn't call a lot of pi yesterday on either team.

So you don't think the hit leveled on speedy was targeting? And you don't think that had an impact?
What about the MG face mask hold when y'all scored that touchdown that would have caused 3rd and long?

really, until the SEC offices are moved out of Birmingham and the current admin is kicked out you will always have to deal with this.
The best way to deal with it is to call constant attention to it, especially before a big game. When the national media starts picking up on it a little they seem to back off to some degree for a moment.
In our game with them on 11/5/11, "the game of the century", much was made of the ref bias before the game. Many threads were posted and the national media seemed to pick up on it. With the national spot light on the refs that game, the game was called fairly. It was a rare occurance in a game of such magnitude involving Bama. I wouldn't expect that to ever happen again due to the Bama loss in that game. I'm sure the Bama officiating crew caught hell for it from the SEC offices. But it does seem, like cock roaches, they don't like the media light.

need a highlight reel of all the bama no calls and calls against opponents
Posted on 10/23/16 at 4:45 pm to Funky Tide 8
Really, the most frustrating part is that Bama doesn't need any help at this point.
But, it just becomes so difficult to protect the Golden Goose. Even when it's less apparent, you can sense it.
Saban at LSU is penalized 8th out of 12 teams in 5 seasons, while Bama is #1 least penalized. Saban goes to Bama and astonishingly becomes least penalized in his first 5 years there.
Saban hires the officials in the offseason, which all live in a reasonable area from Birmingham so they can meet and review their performances during the season. They consult on what is allowed. Well, after being paid to teach these kids what is legal vs non-legal, it is difficult to be objective, especially when you're practically on a first name basis with them now.
Also, human nature plays a big part. I do think Perriera has a point w the conspiracy charges that seem to favor teams that are in a better position to make money for the conference, but a bigger influence, IMO, is just basic self preservation. When you live in an area supported by fans of a certain base and your full time job depends on their patronization, it becomes more difficult to be objective.
Of all the calls that have influenced the outcome of a game b/w LSU and AL, the most blatant to me was the unnecessary roughness call on Vadal Alexander in 2014. Yeldon fumbles w a little over a minute left around their own 5 and Beckwith recovers. At least 3 AL players get extracurricular after our 1st down run, w one defender grabbing Vadal's leg below the knee, picking it up and pulling him seconds after the play is over. He responds w a shove and flag flies immediately, backing LSU up for eventual FG. Danielson correctly states that the call was not correct for the situation, that he hated the official's lack of awareness. AL players were obviously baiting for the call, and at best should have been offsetting, more likely just a non-call.

After the game a few yrs back when Pat Peterson clearly intercepted a ball on sideline that replay showed easily and convincingly that officials looked the other way and over ruled I knew then that sec officials were crooked for bama.

Screw you. To y'all this is just a LSU fan problem.

Oh...and they cheat and use roids and the weather and pay the refs and SEC in B'ham and blah...blah...blah. Winners rise to the challenge and losers make excuses. This is why TXAM will never be champions.

I guess that out of bounds catch that clearly showed the TXAM foot on the white which wasn't overturned in the replay booth was just a ruse to disguise their Bama love?

LSU should have won in TS except for some Gump Ref shenanigans.
First and goal on Bama 2 and they start pushing and shoving after the play. Tigers get called for retaliating; 15 yards and settle for field goal. Then on Bamas drive to tie, an illegal formation flag is picked up after Saban throws a tantrum. No explanation.
Sickening.

look, i'm not an aggie fan and I was not rooting for either team yesterday UNTIL that OBVIOUS targeting non call that fricked up Noil on the kickoff. that really, really pissed me off and the announcers, while agreeing it should have been called, stated that the replay idiots in Birmingham called it NOT a defenseless player. and then whey y'all got a guy ejected later in the game I went ballistic. YALL GOT frickED.
anybody that thinks that the current SEC officials doesn't "help" the team they want to win is naïve. I believe they want the best ratings for the SECCG and they mean to do their part by getting bama and florida there. that episode that made LSU cancel a home game because the SEC didn't step in and make Florida POSTPONE the game (like every other team in the region did) was the last straw for me.
I fully expect LSU to get penalized way more than normal when we play Bama and at critical times. I also expect the same holding they allowed Bama against y'all to be allowed in our game. their TE's and WR's damn near tackle at the point of attack and get away with it.

Tigerdroppings again demonstrates the stupidity of many of its posters as you all fall under the spell of done kind of Alabama conspiracy when it comes to officiating. Many of you think they all meet in secret and plan how they will cheat for Alabama and how they will screw over all of the other teams. Most of you all have never officiated or been to clinics or camps or understand a rule book or mechanics manual or understand points of emphasis in officiating, yet you profess to be experts on such.
If there were such a grand conspiracy as many of you profess to say, personal reputations would be ruined, people would be jailed for sports fixing, and the whole system would collapse. Are there blown calls? Yes, but not very many, and if an official blows ine he or she gets a downgrade and if there are enough, then that official loses his or her job.
If you want to get a real perspective, attend clinics and get into a rule book and mechanics manual and understand how rules are applied and not just google it.
You all sound like UL Lafayette fans. They are known to whine too. Sports Bar Heroes and Fantasy Foitball Wannabes, drink another beer.
