3 LSU Players on this list: JR, Addai, Buster Davis
All are on the bubble. JR is perhaps the biggest underachiever so far in the last decade in the NFL compared to the hype he got.

I didn't even read the article but it's pretty obvious yahoo was giving us love. doesn't make it any less cliché.

he actually played pretty well at the end of last year, especially with no oline and his top 3 receiving threats out

I think it is more that just work ethic. If you are in the NFL...you have good work ethic,...or else you wouldnt be there. I'm no expert by any means but it is hard for me to believe that a team with a backfield that includes a should have been Heisman Trophy winning RB and a top tier QB has bad work ethic. I think we saw this past year with LSU that coaching matters way more than what we acknowledge. I think that is a big factor that the article failed to mention.

you only have that passion for so long before you realize this FO doesnt care so why should i.. which is how the Raiders have become the talent wasteland that it is today.. Al Davis has brought in nothing more than washed up vets and headcases, outside of the draft.. which all he does is pick up the most obvious talent on the board.. i doubt if Davis himself knows who he picked after the first last season.. Russell has had 0 WRs to throw to since he's been there

And that's why "Charles Robinson" works for Yahoo sports. He's an idiot

But yeah, Oakland does have a little to do with it.

I'd say more than a little, I have coaching friends that make it out that way all the time. Talk about one screwed up organization. The stories they would tell.

quote:

Cincinnnati BengalsRB Cedric Benson – The Bengals gave him a two-year, $7 million deal this offseason, which is essentially another “prove it” contract.

Problem child.

quote:

OLB Vernon Gholston – It’s hard to believe Gholston is already at a pivotal point in his career, but 2008 was just that embarrassing. His 13 tackles and inability to make even a slight pass-rushing impact caused serious alarm.

What he did in the NCG against Barksdale showed me something. Too bad the Jets didn't see the same thing.

quote:

S Jason Allen – Allen has never been able to stake his claim to a starting cornerback job, and this year might be his last chance.

Just a bad draft pick.

bwhaaahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!

dude i seriously think that is the worst post i have ever read on the rant. ever!

you wana talk about HYPE! JR didnt get that much hype, the raiders needed a QB and he was clearly the best one availiable.

think about the HYPE Reggie Bush got, compared to what he has done. he was billed as one of the best players to come into the draft in the past ten years.

or even vince young. who had far more hype than JR. and what has he done? he is kerry collins back-up.

matt leinart. heisman winner. much more hype than JR. where is he now....... a back-up.

alex smith. dont get me started.

mike williams and corlos rodgers..... out of the NFL.

David Carr!! Joey Harrington!!

Mike Vick. im going to call him a bust. i mean he is in jail.

Tim Couch, Akili Smith............

the list goes on and on.

JR ended the season on a decent note last year. he probably has one of the crappiest offensive lines in the NFL, and has absolutely NO recievers. i think he has done decently for what he has to work with.

god that was a dumb comment on your part

I think JR was only interested in one thing--cashing in. He's done that, so there is very little motivation left, IMO.

I don't know if you can call anyone that has only played in the NFL 2 years a bust. He only played 4 games his first year so really his full first year was last year. I really think he will be a good quarterback, i also really think that post was dumb.

I'll bet JR declares bankruptcy at some point in the future. Just call it a hunch.

I didn't bash him and didn't say he was a bust. I said SO FAR he has underachieved. What's so hard to comprehend about that?

WTF??

What the hell is your basis for this? This makes no sense.

You ever heard of Akili Smith?? Ryan Leaf?

Hell, Brady Quinn got just about as much hype as Russell, but JR has achieved more than Quinn to this point.

I just think it's laughable cause JR's season was VERY comparable to Joe Flacco's individually. But because Russell plays for the worst organization in pro sports with the worst WR corps in the NFL and Flacco can score 10-13 points per game on offense and be successful, Flacco is a great young QB, and Russell is already getting the bust label.

Makes no sense to me.
