Just read this. This looks really bad.
ETA: I want to clarify this for some of you. There can be no disputing that it “looks bad“. It looks like he paid a player. I am not disputing the provability of any of this, or what the final result will be. But you are mistaken if you don’t think this looks poorly for our coach.
I think he paid a lot of players. He only got caught this time though.

Wade is a hero here.

I think worst case the NCAA slaps LSU with a scholarship reduction out of the ordeal to show face that they are being “proactive” and “cracking down” whether they have anything or not. But like others have said, all the evidence is circumstantial. The articles calling for LSU to fire WW or impose their own post season ban is the most ridiculous thing I’ve read and would be the biggest admission of guilt out there. THAT would have the NCAA swarming LSU to find out everything they knew...

The NCAA is the worst organization on the planet. ISIS. Nazis. Bama fans. They all pale in comparison to the NCAA. at least the aforementioned groups were forthright in their goals/ideals. The NCAA claims to want to protect student athletes. If they imposed a ban or whatever on all the universities that were concerned with (and willing to do what it took in) putting a multimillion dollar "product" on the floor/field there would be no more money. no more "amatuer" athletes/athletics. no more anything. It would simply be what it is today. except athletes could get paid what they are worth.. like.. you know.. any other situation in the entire fricking world except when you are going to school for free.
That being said. There is no evidence of anything here besides a discussion about some stuff that is illegal. If the FBI tapped my truck during rush hour there would be much more damning talk than this.

Without reading the entire thread, what laws were allegedly broken to bring FBI attention? NCAA recruiting regulations do not have the force of law.
(This has probably been addressed at some point in the thread. I'm just lazy. Which is also not criminal.)
Okay. Found it. Fraud against the university is a pretty big stretch. There have been actual prosecutions brought from that angle?
Misuse of public funds would be different but I'd hope no one is that dumb.
