Right. But they aren’t investigating Will Wade. Which is what these Yahoo counts would have you believe.

The article says they were investigating his tactics. Why they were interested is pretty clear, they're seeing if it leads to any more Dawkins types. No where does it say they might pursue charges against Wade. I'm not sure what you're mad about beyond just the situation in general.

So, FBI has had the wiretap and didn't do anything until Yahoo published a story, yeah not buying. The more likely scenario is Wade was subpoenaed for trial by the defense, so the FBI interviewed him to see what his testimony might be.

These dumbasses have a serious issue with Wade, but this is a huge stretch.

There have been hundreds of recruiting scandals and the FBI has never shown interest. Why now? Outside of possible IRS issues, what is the federal interest?

Wade has been captured on multiple wiretaps with agent-runner Christian Dawkins, the since-convicted felon who faces more charges in a trial later this month. Dawkins' attorney, Steve Haney, told Yahoo Sports this week that Wade has been subpoenaed by defense attorneys in the case. There's a chance that subpoena could end up being challenged.

This makes sense now.

This makes absolutely zero sense. The yahoo story was about fbi wiretaps why would they wait till a Yahoo article to act on their own information

Exactly. Neither the FBI office in New Orleans or LSU had any knowledge of the FBI being in BR.

The yahoo report is absolutely garbage. Once a week they issue a new report with no confirmed information.

Time to dump WW and move on! Players are jumping ship and it's clear the fans need to also move on and focus on who will be the next head coach! When the FBI comes to your front door step, it's time to pull the plug. WW is not worth all this mess!

Dawkins and his people in connection with Addidas were found guilty of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud. As you know that’s federal and that’s why the FBI is involved. I don’t have any clue about the last 50 years I’m just telling you why it’s a federal case.

Big Time college sports is dirty af.

But.... who cares? Does anyone get hurt? NO

So.... a poor kid with great athletic ability (and his family) gets some financial benefits from a few filthy rich boosters to go play basketball at a really nice college, with great facilities. Poor kid gets free education, fabulous healthy meals, the finest training in his chosen craft, and aduration of fans.

School fields good, exciting team that fans want to watch. Makes lots of money off ticket sales and tv contracts.

Fans get to watch exciting, winning sports.

What exactly is the problem here?

Yahoo is a joke, I saw another poster linked a quote from yahoo saying that Dawkins lawyer had subpoenaed Wade. From everything I’ve read and heard Wade hasn’t been subpoenaed, only threatened to be. Yahoo is a bunch of lying hacks and not one of these hit pieces has been confirmed or corroborated by anyone.

Yeah, I remember KY sent money to a California recruit in a VHS recording tape box. Unfortunately the box broke open, the postal worker alerted the NCAA, and the KY coach was fired.
Ky uses stronger containers since and have had no other known incidents.
