Who will be our next WR group to kill defenses? Not including incoming recruits. Glad Lacy is returning and could have a really good year. I also think Hilton can be special. He is very fast. But, I think Sampson and Brown will get on the field also. Ibieta was hurt and this guy is really a good receiver. All in all we will be strong again. I'm liking Lacy, Hilton and Brown to be our next dominating group. Very strong WR group anyway you look at it.

WRU

Zavion Thomas- Transfer

02 Kyren Lacy 6-2, 215, Sr.
17 Chris Hilton 6-0, 190, RsSo.
01 Aaron Anderson 5-8, 190, RsFr.
06 Shelton Sampson Jr. 6-4, 187, Fr.
82 Khai Prean 6-0, 202, Fr.
14 Jalen Brown 6-1, 178, Fr.
12 Kyle Parker 5-11, 194, Fr.
24 Landon Ibieta 5-11, 195, RsFr.

There's also Zavion Thomas transferring in. It's going to be a more than capable group, just not a lot of returning production/experience outside of Lacy

We will have an unreal amount of speed in the WR corps.

There won't be a ton of experience. Just Lacy and Zavion. Hilton to some degree.

So a lot will depend on who consistently catches the ball and how this year's freshmen make a jump in route running/separation/etc.

ETA: Sampson looks like the only tall WR. He's going to have to step up.

I think we are going to be in a good spot. Obviously, some WR's will have to step up and become the main targets but someone always does at LSU.

Kylan Billiot 6'3 195 4 star
Jelani Watkins 5'9 160 4 star (track speed)
Michael Turner 6'1 150 4 star (seriously needs to add weight)

These are the incoming FR. Overall the WR room is going to be very young with mostly RS FR and Soph.

This doesn’t include incoming freshman.

I think Watkins is gonna be a problem with his elite speed

Lots of potential in the receivers and incoming recruits, but receiver is one position where I don't let my expectations get the best of me.

Even the best receivers we've had typically aren't consistent game changers in their first season of significant action. Definitely some splash plays, but not the consistency that a veteran receiver brings.

Excellent group, just like the RB room. Barring major injuries the OFF is loaded next season - QB, OL, WR/TE and RB. Make it count!

I think the TE group will take alot of pressure off the WR's. That TE group is LOADED.

My guess is the starting WRs will be:
Lacy
Hilton
Zavion Thomas

Heavy rotation:
Anderson
Sampson
Brown

I expect more 12 personnel with Taylor and either Markway (running downs) or Pimpton. Maybe Treydez Green rotated in if he picks up the offense early.

Looking forward to seeing Sampson get some reps

And don't think that Nuss has locked up the job. The Vanderbilt guy didnt leave a starting job to sit on the bench

Unless Thomas gets the equivalent of 2nd Round NIL money, he’s gone. Thomas is going to blow up at the combine with his measurements

I think BTJ is going to out test Nabors at the combine
